Had a 7:30 reservation, and when we sat down, the host told us that they needed the table by 9pm. 90 mins is a bit quick, but we thought no big problem. The waiter did not come by until 7:50 to take our order, then our drinks did not arrive until 8:10. Before we even got our first round, the host came to remind us again that we needed to be out by 9pm. Around 8:40, we told our waiter we would like to try to get a second round in before 9pm, and he said heād be right back to take our order. At 8:45 before we could order a second round of drinks, the host unceremoniously came and dropped off our check (I have never seen that before). The waiter came by to take our order and even he seemed surprised when we said we had been closed out. I donāt get what kind of terrible business model theyāre running where guests who want to stay and enjoy canāt even order a second round of drinks. It was unbelievably rude and I have never experienced anything like it. Would highly recommend that Management figure this out. Other tables seemed to not be forced out like we were (a group of 4). Drinks were ok, but nothing special to be worth this...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThis place was awesome. Hidden behind a tiny noodle shop (enter through the noodle shop!) this place is also tiny. Very neat aesthetic, very cool vibe. We sat at the bar which gave us a front-row seat to the bartender making the cocktails, which was very cool; he was practically doing tricks for himself, he wasn't intending on entertaining us.
Cocktail, 'unagi', inspired by Sailor Moon, itself was delicious. I've never had a cocktail where it is sprayed with perfume just before serving. One caveat--there is only one bartender, and pretty much everyone is there to order fancy/unique cocktails, so it took awhile to get our drinks. Thus the 4/5 instead of 5/5 for service. The host informed us there is a time limit per seat (which I understand, as the place is tiny) so I think it would be difficult to get 3 rounds of drinks in. Drinks were all $19-20, but, you're paying for the novelty, and I didn't think the prices were unfair. We did not eat anything so can't comment. I would have liked to sit and eat at the noodle shop but we had...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreVisited this bar without realizing it was like a speakeasy so finding the entrance took longer than expected. This bar lived up to their description - putting heavy emphasis on the Japanese city pop ambience. The overall energy of the space was lively.
The drinks were uniquely themed, but I canāt say they were the most well made cocktails. The one that I tried, Seiko, lacked depth. Their food was delicious. The portions are small, but thatās expected given the significantly below...
