I’ve probably been to No Stress Café at least thirty times. The three stars are for their genuinely excellent coffee, delicious croissants, and the many kind and welcoming staff members. However, there is one short-haired female staff member who consistently makes me feel very uncomfortable with the way she reacts to my Golden Retriever service dog.
My dog is sweet, calm, well-trained, and doesn’t bark, yet every time she sees her, she shows a very obvious look of dislike. On two occasions she even looked annoyed when my babe girl stood up a little (just trying to check if there was a treat left in a bottle). Because of these unpleasant interactions, I actually stopped coming for a few months.
I recently returned because the coffee really is that good, but the same thing happened again today. I noticed that right before me, another customer with a dog was treated warmly by her — yet when it was my turn, she gave me and my dog that same unfriendly expression again.
I honestly don’t know why, maybe she just dislikes Golden Retrievers, but it left me feeling unwelcome. If you also have a Golden, maybe think twice before bringing your pup here — no dog parent wants to see someone show such visible dislike toward...
Read moreNo Stress coffee somehow always causes me stress. Not because of the coffee but because of the atrocity that is the service here. I never understood it because Do, the owner is so wonderful but the people she had hired has the community talking. The theme is always “love the coffee, the service is horrendous” which is truly such a shame. Today for example, we waited outside for an 8am open door, line forming outside and the girl who is always there walks up to the door, unlocks the door, doesn’t change the close sign to open and walks away….. someone else decides to barge in and cut everyone who was waiting and it didn’t occur to this woman to stop and say “hey there’s a line, people are waiting”. In addition, I somehow was second in line, and I leave 20 minutes later. My order was completely wrong, and when I told them, no apology, just takes the order throws it out and walks away. Again, hello??? Is somebody home??? I really hope Do reconsiders the people she hires to represent her business because this is not going well right now. I’d recommend going to Birch coffee, finding Shelly and asking her to train the No...
Read moreExtremely disappointed with my matcha latte today. The drink was watery and had very little matcha flavor. It tasted more like matcha-flavored MILK than a true matcha latte.
I asked the barista if they could add a touch more matcha so it was drinkable, but I was told it would cost extra. I did not request a refund nor demand that it be remade. I was just looking to salvage an obviously badly made drink. The drink was a very pale green, any seasoned matcha drinker will tell you that's a bad sign!
I am disappointed that I paid for a drink that was not what I expected and staff made no effort to make it even a little better. Not sure if I came on an off day but this was the worst matcha latte I've had in a long time. My group's mocha and chai were also diluted. Basically $20 dollars...
