Dialogue Coffee & Flowers — Restaurant in New York

Not sure if 2 stars is too harsh, but I honestly didn’t have a good experience, from the service to the drink that I bought.

I decided to give this place a try after seeing it on social media. As a florist myself, I was so excited to check out this place. Upon my arrival, there was nobody at the “bar” area. Of course I started to take videos and pictures for the gram. Then, I saw one staff passed by after that I get closer to the bar area looking for someone and saw her hiding behind the walls (I get it, she probably don’t want to be in any videos or photos, I respect that)

As I was looking at the menu, I ask her if I can sit inside, and she said they’re closing in 30 mins. (I don’t know if she’s tired already and ready to go home but even from here, she’s not even friendly at all. No smile and the tone of voice was so cold, the whole entire time! So let me leave my “service experience at that.”

For the drink, I ordered the matcha latte with the ube cold foam. As she was poured the ube foam, there was barely anything left. She had to scrapped it from the sides with the little spoon, even she said, “sorry we’re running out of ube foam.” I mean, does she think saying sorry after being not friendly is going to be ok to serve my drink with barely of the foam? A foam that I paid for? Unless she’s going to give me some money back for not providing me the correct amount of foam then ok. Plus, the drink is not sweet at all, so if you guys want it sweet, do ask. Oh, and I did mentioned this to her earlier, that I like my drink sweet and creamy. When I asked her if she have any recommendation.

Lastly, $20 for wild flower bouquet is a good price! But make sure your really check the flowers because most of them are dying already. All in all, I give the ambiance 4/5 stars. I love their concept, their decoration etc. I just wish they can have some friendly staff. I mean, you created a cute coffee shop for people to also enjoy, both the taste of what you have to offer and for people “eyes to enjoy,” and take cute...

Two of the girls working there were not kind and made me feel uncomfortable for asking for what I paid for. I was so excited to try this place until I ordered two matcha lattes and both were extremely grainy and not whisked properly. This only happens at places that don’t use proper whisking methods. I asked if they could remake it and they did (with a bad attitude) and both still ended up being grainy.

I ended up going back asking to return just one of them and one of the girls whispered to the other ‘she’s back’ to which the other turned to look at me with clear judgement (as if I wouldn’t notice). Do this on your own time. Yes, I am back because you failed to make a matcha properly because you were rushing. She proceeded to make excuses saying that happens if it isn’t mixed immediately instead of clearly seeing that it’s not supposed to look that way and taking accountability. I know that if a proper bamboo whisk is used and you take your time, there will never be granules that form or settle at the bottom of the cup. It was condescending and they didn’t even refund me for my tip, just the drink.

Do better because the mean girl energy is not it.

By the way, your bathroom door lock doesn’t work and people can walk right in. The matcha also didn’t have...

The vegan coffee/matcha café of my dreams! For so long, I’ve felt left out of the ever so tempting cold foam world and finally, we now have access to incredible vegan cold foam in NYC! I hope other coffee shops will catch on and be influenced by Dialogue. However, idk if this could ever exactly be replicated because it is out of this world! The creamy foam stays present with you the entire time and does not just melt into your drink. Their beverage menu is totally unique, well thought out and intentional. The vegan pumpkin bread was absolutely perfect and can come warmed as well. Grace was my barista and an absolute darling. She helped me choose my pairings as a first time customer and her sweet, friendly disposition and smile truly brightened my day. I paired the carrot cake latte with my pumpkin bread to be festive. Not only are the drinks delicious, they are aesthetically gorgeous! I can’t wait to be back and try something new...
