Had to check this new japanese bbq out cause I always loved japanese bbq and here's my thought out honest review ☺️
Customer service is top notch. Went there around 3:30 and even though our reservation was for 4:15 they seated us right away. They have booths so it was cozy. The music wasn't too loud so you can have meaningful conversations with people. They have an iPad in the table and that's where you would place your orders which is convenient and they do bring the food out right away.
Same as what others have said, they forget some of your orders but you just have to let them know that you're still waiting for order ... and they bring it right away.
The meats weren't as good as I would like them to be. It's a new restaurant so maybe they'll expand their menus and add more seasoning to their beef. Their fried siumai was okay, the gyoza dumplings were good though, however I'm not a fan of their calamari.
Their sushis amazing! We had the gyu ichiro (gotta try their own sushi yk) and it was great.
They also had my favorite mio sparkling sake so 👏 maybe chill it before serving it tho ☺️ it tastes better 😄
Lastly, they do replace the grill but they don't oil it, one of the servers gave me butter so i can oil the grill which was nice of him to do but i highly suggest that they do it in the future (meat sticks in the grill. Unless i guess you want yours well well well done then its fine)
The service was amazing. They took our empty dishes out right away and whenever we order they bring it out. Maybe we were fortunate that they weren't busy at the time but we didn't have problems with waiting for food...
Read moreThe interior vibe is japanese-themed. If your group is small, 2/3 people, then you get a private booth with adequate table space. It isn’t separated from the hallway so about a couple people will peek at your table while walking by.
The lunch menu (AYCE, $29.90) doesn’t have a lot of meat options, but it has a lot of appetizers: Takoyaki, Gyoza, Calamari, Edamame, etc, and only 3 choices of sushi rolls: Eel Avocado, Salmon, and California.
Their meats were delicious nonetheless, packed a lot of flavor even without the sauces, most tender right off the grill. Presentation was great, they plate your assorted meat so it comes in one plate instead of several tiny plates. Didn’t like how they cross contaminated my pineapple with the other raw meat though.
Our fire leaned heavily towards one side of the grill, so the fire wasn’t even. Appetizers were alright, they were honestly mid, the gyoza had 0 flavor, the crunch wasn’t crunching. The fried-calamari wasn’t mind-blowing either. Only the takoyaki was worth.
There isn’t a sauce mixing station, and your only sauces are bbq sauce, spicy chili sauce, and chili powder. I suggest the restaurant to put the chili powder into a shaker bottle, I didn’t expect to pour chili powder and it was difficult to get out. You can request minced garlic and green onion.
Pleasant service from our waiter, she put up with my request of one singular piece of takoyaki since I didn’t think I could finish 6pc and offered to turn up the AC after noticing I was cold. Would’ve been full 5 stars if the appetizers just tasted...
Read moreBooked this place for 3 on a Friday at 7pm. Got seated on a bench to wait for our table and it took 25-30 minutes until we did. Already our experience started off poorly. There was no apologies or acknowledgement of it, which is poor service too. We opted for the sushi and yakiniku combo ($88 per person). I’d recommend doing one or the other next time and returning to do the other another time… because we only got 4 pieces of sushi with the combo option and the regular gets 12 pieces. Some more cons: inattentive servers; meat got overcooked and we had to do it ourselves when they went missing for awhile Delivered dishes and didn’t tell us what they were, especially the sushi.. I had to stop them when they walked by to share $3 for tea per person with the same pot No communication among the workers as we got asked about things more than once within 5 minutes Unfriendly servers
My favorite of the meats was the short ribs dipped in their chili powder. The miso soup, daikon, and house salad were solid here too. The pudding/custard dessert was very tasty too — not too sweet or overpowering for the end of the meal. Otherwise, everything was just decent and the single booths for privacy down the hallway per party was thoughtful too. It is also a cute expensive to have wooden signs at the left of the entrance for people to leave their marks, and you betcha I left ours ;) I probably won’t return but hope they keep improving as the...
