⭐ 1 Star - Extremely Rude and Unwelcoming I had a terrible experience at Happy family Chinese Restaurant on 10th Avenue yesterday — and trust me, the only thing “happy” about this place is the name. The restaurant was completely empty when we arrived, so we quietly sat at a table to check the takeout menu. Within seconds, the receptionist (or whoever was at the front) came over with the most unwelcoming attitude and told us we cannot sit, cannot keep our bags anywhere, and must stand in the corner if we’re only ordering takeout. Her tone was rude, dismissive, and honestly, shocking for a place in New York City. She didn’t greet us, no “hello” or “welcome.” The first thing out of her mouth was “Takeout or having?” — no smile, no eye contact, just a cold, harsh interrogation like we were doing something wrong. It felt like she was doing us a favor just letting us look at the menu. The way she treated us was downright disrespectful, especially considering there was no one else in the restaurant. If this is how they treat customers, I can’t imagine how they run the rest of the business. Totally unprofessional and unpleasant. I will never return here, and I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone — no matter how good the food might be. There are plenty of Chinese restaurants in NYC that actually respect their customers. Avoid this place. You’ve been warned.

I regret not reading reviews before visiting this restaurant for lunch. I ordered the Kung Pao Chicken with wonton soup, and while the soup was delicious, the Kung Pao Chicken was a disappointment. It didn't taste like authentic Kung Pao Chicken, which I've had many times before (and I'm part Chinese, so I know the dish well). When I asked to exchange my food, the staff gave me a hard time, insisting that their version was correct. I disagreed and asked to try the General Tso's Chicken instead. In addition, I was told my dish was coming with egg fried rice. There was no egg. It was just plain rice that seemed to have been cooked with soy sauce but had no taste. The chicken was hard and dry. Unfortunately, that dish also lacked flavor. The hospitality was also subpar. Overall, I'd say the food and service were not up to par, and you can find better Chinese food at a takeout place. Sadly, I won't be returning.

Extremely rude and unwelcoming service. I went in and asked if they had any green tea/tea. The woman there looked at me like I was a nuisance and took her time saying yes. I asked if I could get a seat and have tea and an app. She looked hesitant and then told me yes. Mind you, the restaurant was EMPTY. Not a single person sitting except maybe one and I’m not sure if they were a customer.

I sit down and decide on a soup and the tea. It’s cold and want to warm myself up. I understand it’s a small order but I would’ve tipped generously and probably would’ve ended up ordering more.

I let her know of my order and she asked “that’s it”? Then she asked if I was sure I didn’t want the order to go. She said she could put the tea in a to go cup. I told her thank you but I’d like to eat in here.

She didn’t answer me and instead made the nastiest face to me. I had enough. Never had a I had such rude service before.

I asked her “is there a problem???” And suddenly her face changed to a doe eye look and she acted confused and wouldn’t answer me. If you’re going to be nasty at least stand on your business. Coward.

It was only until after the reviews that I noticed the negative reviews regarding service and food. I’m glad I walked out. This area is full of well deserving business that value customers. No need to eat here.

To the business, many reviews are similar regarding your employees. Maybe you should do...

I work on the street where the restaurant is as a team of construction company fixing their road. So because of we spend many hours their i am used to buy their launch specials (which are very good of cooking, literally i love it).

But this review is about poorest customer service and disrespect of their loyal and everyday customer. There are to ladies who work their who take orders. One lady is very welcoming and of best manners. She was so kind when we needed an access to restroom while we were waiting our street restrooms to be delivered (what a shame even mention it here, but another lady were so bad to me.

First of all, she didn’t let me use a restroom once saying that in so bad way, looking down on me. But this is not only. Then second time i paid for my lunch but I couldn’t finish it and decided to warm it later. When i have asked this lady to warm it up, she deigned to take adding “we don’t have this service, you pay for your lunch.

Yes, you right, you can refuse such orders because really, you don’t have to. But show a little of respect for those who are paying your bills, feeding you children and making your life in US affordable by being YOUR CUSTOMER.

And yes, this is true. Well, if you’ll excuse me, I think it is my first review in google any time, but i hope this will stay here to aware:

Disrespect

PS i spend over $150 on...
