I’ve been to this jazz bar on dates before, however this evening, me and my friend went to the bar and I went outside for a smoke. The drinks must have caught up with me, and the security would not let me back inside- which is, of course, fair and valid. However, what transpired next, was what made this entire night sinister and weird.
The security guard kept insisting that my friends had left and my phone was dead. I asked her if I could use her phone to call my phone, or if she could quickly escort me to my table and I could grab my purse and phone. She refused. She was extremely adamant that my friends had the left the club when I kept trying to explain to her that my friends, my purse, and phone were inside. I even tried to describe my friends to her.
My friends during this time were trying to find me, and the security inside had told them I had left. My friends also had my Phone and purse, so of course they were worried.
Luckily they left the club, and walked back to my place and we met each other. After sharing our stories with the really weird security who kept insisting to us that we had left each other, we went back to the club with one of our friends who was a lawyer. This friend was able to go back inside and retrieve my purse and phone. Which was great, but once again- where it took a sinister turn, because the same security guard who kept trying to separate me from friends demanded that I prove it was my phone and ID. I complied and I showed her my license and also unlocked my phone in front of her, and she reluctantly let me go, but was still hesitating, trying to insist my Phone and purse were not mine. Had I not met up with my friends and had my friends not been witness to me showing my license and unlocking my phone, I’m 100% sure this evil woman would still be trying to gaslight me and tell me that the bar does not have my...
Read moreAwful place. Claims they close at 4 am but on both occasions I went it was either closed or I was nastily told to leave at 3:30. The manger I’m assuming, is horrible too. I ended up forgetting my bag in the Uber and took some time to get it back. They did nothing to help me which was fine I didn’t expect them too. However once my bag was returned to me, they had no problem taking my money when I brought a round of shots, but magically needed to close right away when I try to finish my already purchased drink. When I asked the manager if it would be alright if I could just finish my glass of preseco, he stood luring over me. I brought up that other people were still in the bar at tables and he said that he ignored them because “they worked here” which I guess meant they got special treatment I don’t know. To top things off he had the audacity to say to me “after all we did to help you with your purse” the only person that “helped” me was the bouncer and even then he was just trying to help me be positive. A dumpy bar can’t help you find your bag you left in an Uber and I was aware of that and didn’t ask nor need their help. The manager did nothing but sit outside talking with women, and the waitress with no hair and on a power trip was extremely passive. It’s unfortunate because that’s one of the only bars in the area that’s opened late, and it’s very clear they know that so they do what they want. So end of the story, beware their hours are flimsy, cocktails are over priced and mediocre, just go to a pub in midtown and save yourself the trouble of watching a bunch of snoody under qualified waitresses and cocky managers fumble around for a few hours and not stick to their hours because they just want to go...
Read moreEstablishment is deleting all negative reviews of an assault that took place over the weekend from one of their “security guards”. Stay away from this place if you value your safety and don't want to support an establishment that covers up serious crimes.
I am deeply disturbed by the recent incident at this restaurant. Over the weekend, a woman was physically assaulted by one of their security guards, who came up from behind her and choked her. Shockingly, another female security guard stood by and did nothing.
The security guard responsible for the assault is a convicted felon with a history of violent offenses, particularly against women. To make matters worse, none of the security guards at this establishment are certified professionals.
This restaurant is not safe for women. It's appalling that they continue to employ such dangerous individuals, and even more outrageous that they have taken to deleting reviews that mention this assault. It appears they are more concerned with their reputation than the safety of their patrons.
This place is unacceptable and should be avoided at all costs. The fact that the security guard is still employed, with apparently only “two strikes” left, is revivable and shows a complete disregard for the well-being of...
