Barbarossa Barbershop — Local services in New York

Don't know what happened. SO walked in for hair cut as so many times but had to use the (ukrianian/ maybe new guy). Had let hair grow out to shoulder. Wanted a long hair cut and showed pictures of the past with long hair and bangs to his chin. He wanted super long in front shorter on back and side. New guy buzzed ALL of his head as short as possible with super short bangs puffy on side as if he had not heard him, not seen a photo and had an issue against long hair. Not cool if you are a stylist to impose your own ideas. Pretty frustrating and devastating experience given hair is going white and wanted a long cut with original color that was left. Every time long has been requested it has been shorter than wanted but acceptable, but this time they sent the message they don't do long with this new guy. Short cuts are generally great here and pristine and we've always loved them but I wouldn't try long cuts here especially not as long as this stylist is here. Wasn't even a good short cut. Looked awful. Uneven sides without any styling. SO is so upset they won't even call the shop to complain as he said it was obvious he didn't give him a long cut and the old stylist saw it afterward and no one seemed to care the new guy did his own thing buzzing and chopping him like he was going off to basic or a political convention but had to get up mid cut. Peter (Pietro) has been my barber for more than 15 years. He is a consummate professional who is meticulous at his chosen craft. The warm greetings one receives upon entering his shop followed quickly by an offer of a freshly made espresso, complete the amazing experience each time I go for my haircut and shave. Fantastic experience. I have very thick blond hair that many barbers have trouble dealing with. David approached it masterfully and I walked out with the best cut I’ve had in years, if not ever. Quick, efficient, accurate, elegant and never rushed. Will be returning and recommending to friends. Real masterful scissor work! So many younger barbers are used to only tight buzzed styles and as soon as a real head of hair comes in, they are lost at sea.
