Shui Mei Cafe — Restaurant in New York

To start off when I walked in I was placed my order and the person at the front was patient and welcoming. The food cost me $8.50 which is a really good price for the portion of food. The food didn’t take long to come out and was ready to eat as soon as I got it. The fried pork dumplings were crispy and fresh. Every bite had a burst of flavor. It was my first time trying peanut noodles and it had a subtle peanut taste to it. It was creamy which I liked. Overall it was really good. Just make sure to mix up the gravy when you eat it. Childhood comfort food place! I always love getting food from this shop and have been coming here for ages! They've renovated a bit, so their kitchen is larger but their dining area is a lot smaller.

Order at the register and then in typical Chinese manner, try to fight for a seat. You may have to share with another group but that's the charm of the place. Came here because I was craving some food from my childhood. Slightly disappointed on the 2 fried items that I got not very flavorful. The guobian was also lacking in flavor. I ordered it with clam but they forgot the clam and had to add it after, I suspect that’s why the flavor was not great. The peanut noodle and the fujianese style wontons were pretty good. If I had only ordered those 2 items I would have given it a 4. Overall it’s ok but there are other better options for fujianese food...
