Since the first time I visited South Beach Miami, I have been on a relentless quest for another mouthwatering, delicious Cubano Sandwich… all to my utter disappointment. The only thing I’ve found in Brooklyn (specifically Williamsburg) that even comes close has been one that used to be on the menu at Teddy’s… but I’m not even sure if it’s still available bc their delivery selections are so skimpy since they’ve relegated themselves to only serving limited bar menu items. SO— during Covid ordering, I was ELATED to find a fanTasTic Cuban Sammy at The Sandwich Shop. Any Cuban Sandwich lover will likely tell you that the secret is the proper bread, and how you cook the pork! And they’ve got both of these ingredients down pact in their El Cubano!! Not to mention they put just the right amount of pickles, cheese & everything else, making this one of my favorite sandwiches on their menu. The only issue is that you have to order it early bc it’s a top seller. They cook the pork overnight (the proper way) and it’s served fresh daily, and when it sells out— it’s gone! So yummy though. I limit myself to one every couple of months bc otherwise I’d be big as a house!! Go for the FULL SIZE for a couple extra bucks and make it last 2 days, heats up just fine in the oven for lunch the next day. Their soups are also...

The Manager that works there has horrible respect for women . I was frustrated because my son left his phone in his place of business. I FaceTime the phone twice and a lady picked up. I didn’t come off disrespectful or anything I was just upset and the frustrations wasn’t towards them if they had common since they would had known that . He respectfully ask if I can call the phone so they just won’t be giving it to anybody . I proceeded to call the phone . He put the phone my hand I said thank you and walk away. However as I walk away he mumble something under his breath about me being trash . Yes he got my attention because it didn’t have be an argument . I TRIED ! to come to an understanding and he brush me off like I wasn’t nothing . I would NEVER ! spend my hard earn money at this place no way . They shop so small I would always walk past . There a lot place business on grand street that I’m always...

This was the first time I ordered from this store and I got food poisoning... vomiting, fever, shivers, diarrhea... it was horrible. Don’t purchase unless you are okay gambling with the safety of your food.

——

So I don’t seem to have an option to hit reply to your comment, but to answer your questions. Yes, I ordered from the Sandwich Shop in Williamsburg. Food poisoning symptoms actually start to show with 6-10 hours of ingesting the food. I had the sandwich for dinner and started feeling sick in the morning. Taking into consideration this was the ONLY meal I ate out this weekend, I’m going to assume that it was definitely the sandwich. Also, I did call the store and asked for a refund (which they already processed). In all honesty, it is shameful that you try not to put the blame on yourselves. Just take ownership...

Thank you. I appreciate that. It was an...

Overall rating: 4.1 I stopped by this place for a quick lunch while in the area. I really don’t like how it’s impossible to know the price until you’re right there at the ordering. The website should consider updating given there isn’t any place to sit and think. I ended up paying about $15 for the Cubano and it was okay. It wasn’t anything special. I kinda had a little higher expectations being in Williamsburg and it felt like a boutique shop. Not sure if I’ll come back again if I’m in the area. Recommend giving it a try, but lower your expectations.
