I had such high hopes for Tucci, and the beginning of our meal really did start out delicious. The tuna carpaccio, Caesar salad and focaccia were all to die for. The fried artichokes were good, but a little heavy and nothing to write home about.
The problems arose with our pasta. I along with someone else at the table are vegetarians (one of us for religious reasons and the other 20+ years with no meat). We ordered the spaghetti pomodoro and and another vegetarian pasta and dug right in. After finishing a first helping, we began to grow skeptical as to whether the pasta was vegetarian as there were bits of meat-looking pieces throughout the pasta.
We asked 3 different waiters who all responded with much uncertainty "if you ordered the pomodoro then yes - it is vegetarian." We finally got someone to take the dish back to the kitchen to double check.
The manager returned and said that there may have been a piece of meat that got into our pasta to which we responded there were lot's of these pieces throughout - it wasn't just one. He returned from the kitchen and confirmed that they had put the amatriciana sauce (filled with pork) on the spaghetti pasta by accident.
We were then practically ignored the entirety of the night. Luckily this wasn't an allergy, but for a $400 dinner, huge mistakes like this should not be made. And if they are, I expect the entire bill to be comped.
It's unfortunate because the food and ambiance were both great, but for a place that is already so difficult to get into and expensive, we were made to feel like this error was not a big deal, when it truly is a huge deal and could seriously hurt someone if it...
Read moreCame here back in March on opening night(15th). Had to wait for google maps itself to update the name to Tucci as opposed to what was in its place prior so the review would stick to the correct restaurant.
Anyways… opening night and you wouldn’t be able to tell. Host who greeted you at door was nice and helpful. Waitress was just plain lost. Took our order and SAID it back to us out of her own mouth. My entree comes and it’s wrong… so I call her over and I ask her “what is this??” to which she then tells me what it is and my response is “okay why??” And she’s just kinda looking at me confused as I look at her confused and then it finally clicks for her that this isn’t what I ordered… she simply takes it away and brings back what I did order about 5 min later and gives off a half a** sorry???
ALSO ! In the emails I received from the restaurant it was said to be a followed dress code which I loved because we were coming to A GRAND OPENING for our anniversary. We get dressed up and of course a table of 4 already there prior to us is in hoodies/ jeans and sneakers. With multiple people just coming down the stairs in again you guessed it sneakers…. What type of in-forced dress code do you have if only two people followed it ON OPENING NIGHT.
No there’s absolutely nothing wrong with dining in what you’d like but clearly the establishment itself needs to get rid of their dress code requirements all together as you can clearly come however you are.

Read moreTucci is a very well oiled machine for a young restaurant. The service was as good as it gets. The food was all very good. We shared everything and ordered quite a bit. We were a party of five. The Focaccia bread was very good. Great crust and soft airy interior. The Caesar salad was great. The Octopus was ok for me but the table loved it. The meatballs were fantastic. Not that they need my advice but if they sold the sauce they could have a whole 2nd business. Baked clams were amazingly flavorful and had zero grit. The AGNOLOTTI CON TARTUFO with the corn salsa was my unexpected amazing dish. I even tried to sway the table to something else. Glad we had it was really great. The pasta bolognese was my person favorite. Cannot beat homemade pasta and sauce with perfectly cooked ground beef. The Chicken parmigiana was also fantastic. The veal Marsala was excellent. That along with 2 bottles of wine from Sancerre were what we thought was going to be dinner. However We ordered another chickens Parm and lasagna since we were still hungry.
Although we were getting full at this point and I was almost out of money we order the cheese cake and chocolate moose. Both were great.
I’d definitely go back because everything is that good and the staff is attentive but not intrusive. The only constructive criticism I have is the portions could be a little bigger to increase the bang for the buck- which doesn’t go too far. That said I enjoyed my meal and I’ll...
