BJ's Ice Cream — Restaurant in Newport

The guy is real nice and energetic but the ice cream is way too airy and the cream base isn’t that good quality. Flavoring is okay but could be better. And the prices are just too high for 2 scoops. Basically 7 dollars for 2 scoops of airy, low quality cream with weak flavoring. The cream isn’t like apart of the ice cream it’s just there it doesn’t contribute any taste whatsoever. Ice cream should be dense and have little air, the air makes the ice cream not creamy at all which is the main thing that makes ice cream good. Honestly 7 dollars is overkill for the ice cream. I’ve ate a tons of different shops and this is probably near the last 3. If I would say some advice to the owner I would say “the ice cream isn’t frozen which is good, but try not to agitate the cream and flavor once it is mixed, and use better quality cream...

I had what may be the best hot fudge sundae ever at BJ's. And I'm not ashamed to admit that I've had more than my fair share of these ice creamy delights. So, I consider myself extraordinarily experienced at consuming them and qualified to make such a statement.

The ice cream itself is beyond description, but I will give it a go. It's ridiculously creamy. The flavors available were delicious. My sundae had chocolate mint with Andes mints. The other scoop (You know I had more than one!) was salted caramel with so much caramel that it had to be illegal. So good!

Also, the hot fudge seemed to be of extra high quality and did justice to such awesome ice cream.

Last but not least, the service was outstanding. The young assisting us was cheerful and fun. Kudos to you, sir!...

It was our FIRST TIME here, so wanted 3 different scoops in 1 cup. 2 chocolate based flavors, and a cheesecake flavor. We asked the lady to scoop the flavors in a specific order (cheesecake last/on top) and she went out of her way to completely smash the cheesecake flavor between the chocolate flavors. She would not fix it, and basically said if we didn't pay for her screw up, we didn't get icecream. We didn't lollygag and hold up a line. We didn't ask for a million samples. We don't understand why we were treated this way, but we hope nobody else does.

This happened on Aug 15, 2019 at about 7:15pm. Lady was young with dark hair and facial piercings.
