I apologize in advance for the long-winded review, but I can’t help myself. I am not usually one to take the time to review something, but I have to this time. My husband and I recently had the pleasure of trying out Crepes Palace. It is a new restaurant that he had been wanting to try out ever since it opened, so I surprised him on our anniversary.
Every aspect of the experience left me utterly impressed! The food was nothing short of exceptional. Each dish was honestly a masterpiece that showcased the immense talent of the chef, along with his homemade mouth-watering sweet tea! Every bite was so full of flavor, but never overdone. It was honestly perfection! We started with the She Crab soup and also tried the “Silver Dollar” appetizer, which was honestly the best stuffed mushrooms I have ever had. The soup was delicious, but whatever those mushrooms were stuffed with was unbelievably good! For our entrees, I had the shrimp and grits and my husband had the jerk chicken. WOW! Just WOW! Then, to top it all off, we had “Sex in a Pan” for dessert. When you take the first bite, the sounds you will make will have you completely understanding why it is called that.
We got to talk with the chef for a few minutes and it was instantly obvious just how much he cares. It's really rare to encounter a chef with such a deep understanding of ingredients and an ability to craft them into dishes that are not only visually stunning but also incredibly yummy! We learned that he only uses unshelled pecans and takes the time to crack each of them open himself because he wants to make sure that he knows exactly what it going in every dish he creates. When we were thanking him for all the amazing food, he was so humble and appreciative of our compliments.
BUT, the excellence of this place didn't stop at the food! The owner's genuine care for her guests was palpable throughout the entire experience. Ms. Paula made sure that we felt valued and appreciated. Her passion for her new restaurant was evident in the meticulous attention to detail, from the inviting and very clean environment to the attentive service and beyond. You can immediately tell that she takes a lot of pride in what she does. You can always tell when someone is just showing up for work and doing just what they have to do until it’s time to go home versus someone that truly loves what they are doing. I know the place is new, but I have a strong feeling that Crepes Palace is going to become a household name. If we ever won the lottery, we said that we would invest in it for sure.
In a world where dining experiences can often feel rushed and impersonal, this restaurant stands out as a true gem. It's a place where food is elevated to an art form, where a gifted chef pours his heart and soul into each dish, and where an owner's dedication creates an atmosphere of warmth and hospitality.
My husband and I hadn’t had a date out since before Covid. I am so glad that this was what we chose as our first. Only problem is that now we are spoiled and it will be hard to top this for our next date night.
I wholeheartedly recommend Crepes Palace to anyone seeking an unforgettable culinary journey. We are already making plans to return next week with some family members so they can experience it too.
Thank you Crepes Palace for making our anniversary one that we will...
Read moreThis place is like a hidden gem. I heard some talk about it, so I decided to go and check them out. I really have to say what I heard did not compliment them nearly enough. When I got there the 1st person I meet was the chef. He was so warm and inviting. I had no idea he was the chef I thought he may have just worked there until I found out. Then there was this wonderful lady who came to wait on me. I told you guys in post before customer service is everything to me. These 2 people were so nice, so wonderful, so humble just great to me. Then I got my food, I promise you my followers, and readers all that warm delightfulness was also in the food. I ordered there Jerk chicken meal. I've never been to Jamaica but I can imagine that the way that food taste is exactly how it would be there. Being from N.Y I've had the pleasure of some great authentic Caribbean cuisine....but we're talking about South Carolina lol. Never would I have imagined that. Then what else made it special to me is the serve a crepe with ever dish, so the crepe under the chicken gave off jerk chicken and dumpling vibes....VERY DELICIOUS. I also tried there Shrimp and Grits dish, another Killer. I love how the display the dish. They plate it but then to add the crepe they put some of your food in the crepe and put it on the dish, it's just a great play on plating and design. Since we eat with our eyes first...they're food is delicious twice lol....if I had to give any advise it would be please don't change and keep up...
Read moreNew restaurant alert. Located in North Charleston off Mall Dr. Crepe’s Palace is a hot new eatery serving gourmet, egg-free crepes in every configuration imaginable. They serve breakfast, lunch, and dinner and they also have a private room that seats 14. The private room is at no charge to you but tipping is encouraged. On my visit I got the Shrimp and Grits Crepe, a shrimp and grits dish wrapped in a sun-dried tomato crepe. It was so delicious and every bite included shrimp as they were distributed throughout the dish evenly. I loved how juicy and skillfully seasoned they were and they were so filling. The other dish I ordered was the Crepe D’Island, a sweeter crepe made with condensed milk and mango. The condensed milk wasn’t overly sweet and the mangoes added a lovely fresh element to the dish. Plantains also found their way to my plate which I thoroughly enjoyed. They were fried perfectly and were crispy without being greasy. My overall experience here was warm and I felt like family. The owners, Christina and Paula were very hospitable, and Chef Vernon was also excited to hear my comments about his beautiful food plating. If you’re in the North Charleston area definitely give them a try. My experience was excellent! Follow me on instagram at...
