Sweetgrass Restaurant & Porch — Restaurant in North Charleston

In spite of the great reviews my 1st time visit was terrible. Arrived around 12:20 pm. Spoke with the desk clerk who gave great review of the restaurant so was expecting a good meal. We were a table of 4. Two of us arrived first and seated ourselves. There were about 4 other tables seated when we arrived. No one ever acknowledged us. When my friend #3 arrived, still no one acknowledged us. We began to discuss finding somewhere else to eat. When our 4th friend arrived we decided to leave at approximately 12: 50. I did go over to the cashier and asked if they were closing and that we sat there and was never acknowledged. She apologized, stated she was busy. "Really!" The restaurant is Not that big!!! I can understand shortage of help, but at least acknowledged your customers!! First impressions.........4 people......Not good at all!! These 4 will tell at least 4 more people of the terrible experience....those 4 will tell 4 plus more... and...

I am a local foodie that eats out at least three times a week. I hadn’t been to this restaurant in years possibly because it is not standalone but inside of the Crowne plaza hotel in Tanger Outlet Area.

The food is amazing. Every single time I’ve come here I have loved what I have gotten. From my experience many hotel restaurants are not very good. This one definitely is .

Today I had shrimp and grits, and I loved it! The gravy was creamy. There was an adequate amount of shrimp. It was topped with a light brown sausage type gravy, a little bit of cheese and bacon. OMG I don’t know who is in the kitchen but I hope someone tells them - it was amazing!

One big thing. Keep track of the time. It is only open from 11- 1pm during lunch and then opens back up at five. I got in there so close to 12 that I felt bad holding them up and I got the rest of my food to go even though they were very...

Things certainly have changed since the last reviews were posted. I took a chance on a hotel restaurant while I was charging my Tesla up the road but that turned out to be a big mistake. They had signage that they were to open at 11 but the front desk stated they would be opening at 11:30. It turned out to be more like 11:40. Not a big deal normally but considering the per minute cost of charging a car past it's full point it does in fact matter. Coffee was some of the worst I have had and I am not all that picky. 25 minutes to get our food. Salad was 95% lettuce with very little to offer otherwise. Shrimp & grits were lukewarm, mush and lacking any flavor. The wings weren't terrible but I feel like I ended up paying $35 for 6 wings. You do the math and I bet you would go to...
