MOD Pizza — Restaurant in North Charleston

I had the absolute worst experience I can imagine my first time ever attempting to eat here. I placed my order online and received an order confirmation # and came in to pick up my food and when I walked in the door the entire staff had headphones in and did everything possible to ignore the only customer in the building. I had to interrupt 2 employees watching a video or something on their cell phone to be "greeted" and they had no idea about any order placed. I opened my phone and showed them the order confirmation and they just shrugged and said they couldn't do anything without manager approval. The manager was sitting outside in the parking lot in her car with a group of several of her friends and made no attempt to help me when I went outside and was preparing to wait for my food. It wasn't until after waiting for a few minutes and going back inside and asking what the manager had done about the situation that she decided to walk in the door looking clearly inconvenienced that she might have to work that I even realized she was the manager. After receiving several very pronounced eye rolls, sighs and facial expressions I decided to demand a refund for my pizza. She then told me there was nothing she could do to refund my $ because she couldn't look the ticket up on her computer even though I had a confirmation number and correct business address with me. I really enjoy mod pizza. The pizza is always delicious. I love the whole structure of this restaurant, because I love being able to pick my ingredients to customize my own pizza, and I love that they offer the plant based cheese and sausage. The only critique I have is regarding the placement of the regular cheese.It's right next to the tomato sauce and it's even around other vegetables and I always see the real cheese crumbs in the vegetables that are around it. This probably isn't a big deal for most people, but for people who want a 100% plant-based pizza, this is technically a cross-contamination. I know mod pizza is not a vegan restaurant, but this is just a suggestion that would maybe help them serve their customers who are more strictly plant based. I know that mod pizza cares about these customers because they have taken the time to offer 2 crucial plant-based ingredients, so kudos to them for even adding it on the menu. It would make it even better if they also took one more step to separate the regular cheese from the other vegetables and tomato sauce, to keep it from being contaminated with the cheese crumbs, in order to serve those customers who the plant based ingredients are for a bit better... just a thought. All in all, because I'm not a strict vegan, I am vegetarian, and don't really mind the cheese too much but sometimes I do notice it because I would prefer not to have any real cheese in my food. I used to come to this location frequently, but unfortunately the quality has begun to decline. Many of the employees are cordial/nice, but some of them seem frustrated that I’ve even walked in the door, and I’ve frequently had issues with the staff getting my order wrong or having to repeat the same thing multiple times. For example, if I’m ordering two pizzas (one for my girlfriend and I), I’ll say “two mod pizzas” but the employee will only begin to make one, and instead of going back to get the other after or making them at the same time, the employee will begin helping someone else like they have forgotten I asked for two. I then must go to the back of the line and wait to reorder the second pizza; unfortunately, this has happened multiple times, lately. However, that’s not the big reason I’m decreasing my rating for this location. I’ve ordered multiple salads and pizzas that have been wrong, and the salad will have large stalk-end of the lettuce in it that I’ll have to pull out. One occurrence wouldn’t make me raise an eyebrow but these complaints are occurring more frequently and the quality/taste of the food just isn’t the same as it was about a year ago.
