UPDATE: I have changed my 4 star review to 1 star as a result of fraudulent tip charges appearing on my credit card after the fact. Keep an eye on your receipt if you go here, the actual charge was $2 more than what the receipt was. The restaurant did refund it when I called, but it shouldn’t have happened in the first place.
Original Review Below: I chose this place against everything else in the area (there is a lot!) because I wanted hibachi. I’ve never really seen a quick-service hibachi place like this.
My first impression is that the place was dirty and disorganized. I placed my order for the hibachi combo with miso soup.
The order came out in about average time even though they were busy. Everything as expected there. When I went to get my drink however, the Pepsi machine was kind of gross and there was labels taped to it. The Mountain Dew came out clear and the starry didn’t taste right. I ended up with a sweet tea which was good. The problems with the soda machine is the reason I went to 4 stars instead of 5.
When I got my food, it was a mixed bag. Immediately won me over with the amount of zuchinni, but I am a squash snob so that’s my preference. The zuchinni was great and the chicken was amazing. The rice was hard and crusty and I chose not to eat it. The miso soup was so hot that even by the time I finished my entree it was too hot to eat. The soup is a generous portion and I’ll take it home.
I am a huge fan of the white sauce and teriyaki sauce condiment dispensers. Most hibachi places never give you enough. That’s not an issue here.
Overall, a pretty average experience. I would...
Read moreWorst service, I asked for my broccoli on the side and the rude cashier smirked and said that they can't do that even though I had just watched them cooking the shrimp and broccoli separate. I asked why sometimes they wouldn't do it when the previous time I was there they did it. She just said we can do it so I asked for my coupon back and she preceded to ignore me and start talking to another employee and asking her about the broccoli, then that employee said no to me too. I told them that's fine I'll just go to the North charleston location where they never seem to have a problem doing it. She then got the manager to come up front so that he could get my coupon back and he didn't try to resolve the issue no did he ask me why I was upset. He asked his rude employee what the problem was she told him and he looked at me and said they don't do that, once again I said that's fine give me my coupon back so I can go to North charleston, he handed it back without an apology and the entire time that girl at the register had a smirk on her face. I have never had such terrible service, I can't eat a certain food so I get it on the side to give to my boyfriend because if I'm going to be paying for it whether or not I get it then someone should eat it! This place has the absolute worst customer service I...
Read moreI ordered a Super Bowl togo. Once home and half way thru I found a long strand of black hair nestle in the rice. I called n complained. I went to the store with the bowl and the hair. They offered to make me another bowl and I declined stating that I wldnt feel comfortable eating now that the health standard had been compromised. Also, due to the fact that I had to pack my 6 mnth old back in the car and drive way back to their location, I wanted a refund. They declined. And the workers we smorking. I pleaded my case and said I didn't trust it..so, the manager called the police on me! Wow! I paid $15, didn't get to enjoy my food, didn't get a refund and the cops were called on me with my son. The officers agreed with my plight but stated it was a civil matter, even recommended I contact corporate for restitution. They said they get a lot of disturbance calls for them, probably due to the way they handle the customers. I would have never even had to come back or complain if they wore hair nets, not to mention that I was treated like a nobody when I was a paying customer. They nice long as you don't find their error. I went to seasons of japan because I had them before and thought it was on point I was embarrassed and felt like a fool. I will never return and will tell all that I know not to...
