Lamp Post Lounge — Restaurant in Oklahoma City

Went out Saturday night and had a GREAT time but only reason for 3 stars is the only way to get in is a ridiculous amount of money to the bouncer to cut the line (guys still have to pay cover charge inside), be one of the bouncers friends, or wait in line for a while. We obviously waited in line for a while but it was really rude that they just let in whoever they knew (really big groups too) or bribed people. And also another reason for 3 stars is the bar tenders were really slow and there’s only a couple at each bar (2 bars total) for hundreds of people. Also no AC or outside area so it was very hot in there. Other than tho the vibes were great, the people were lively. I got there early enough to settle in and dance around to a mix of disco,90s, & showtunes..which I was very happy about. The decor had a 70s mansion smoking room and studio 54 mix. Liked that their security was on top of things and making us aware of the area. Trendy but comfortable and hope it holds strong. The dance floor was crowded in a good way by 11 with more hip hop added in. Only things I would say is that I wish they had(or I was aware of) a back porch area and that the bartenders were a bit more friendly/helpful to everyone, although I know as a former bartender that gets harder as the night goes on. The atmosphere is everything you want. As a heavy lover of music, they’re vibing. It’s your modern twist. Loved the disco theme, but it DOES musically drift to modern spins. Doesn’t retract from the space. At all. Heavy is funk. Good & groovy baby. One of the bartenders used to be my favorite at Greystone! Won’t frequent that place because of their reputation…Stanky. No strangers in Oklahoma. So glad he’s in such a vibrant place. If it wasn’t a Thursday…and I wasn’t driving to Texas in the morning…I’d be dropping it on the dance floor.
