I had never been to this Greek restaurant and loved the food and the concept. Everything is served in small portions for 2 - perfect!!! You get to try all you want and, because you order as you go, you can stop anytime or re-order something that you found worth repeating. Plenty of vegetarian and seafood choices, so for me, it was superb! We tried one of the dips, and it was excellent! Spinach and cheese, but very different from other ones I had eaten before. We also had the beet root stack - also excellent! The garlic is quite strong in it though, so be prepared! We like garlic, so we did not mind it. If you would rather not have that, I am pretty sure it can be modified or served without it. They are very accommodating. We also had the smoked salmon crisps. Very good too. My only problem with that was that the crisps got pretty soggy very soon. Flavors were amazing though. Rosemary scallops were delightfully lemony and cooked to perfection. Then we had the feta cheesecake! What an amazing blend of salty and sweet flavors in just the right proportion. They are little as well, and for me, the ideal size for such a dlicious and rich dessert. Oh yes, they are covered in semi-sweet chocolate -- how perfect! We had the Greek wine, retsina, and it was a treat. I had never had it before and found it to be quite indescribably delicious. A mixture of dry and fizzy with an earthy, musty undertone that made it the perfect accompaniment to our meal. Too bad we do not live closer to Ottawa! We will be back on our next...
Read moreIt was my first time eating here, but it is not my first time eating Mediterranean Style food. At first, the menu is a little confusing, I came in to order a chicken kebab plate (It’s a very normal item, I almost always order). The cashier was very nice and told me that that there will be an additional charge for choosing chicken kebab. She informed me that the plate comes with double chicken but if you wanted a double kebab, it would be extra. Since it was my first time here, I just ordered it exactly the way it came to try it out. My order was a to-go order. I drove down the street to my destination, and when I opened the box, I had some grilled chicken fillets, with a sauce on it. I was not big of a fan of the fillets. It was very thin and very dry. The rice was also very mediocre, very low in flavor and it was clumped up. I moved onto the vegetables, I could not even eat them after the first two bites they were extremely salty, and just seemed like a frozen stirfry. The hummus was not what I expected, it had more of a tangy lemon flavor. Lastly, the food was barely even warm.
Again my go-to choice of food when eating out is Mediterranean and I was very disappointed by this choice of mine.
I am also very confused on the reviews here, because they definitely threw me off on what I was expecting my food...
Read moreFirst time here. The front cashier was welcoming and helpful, answered all my questions. That's the extent of my positive experience in the lobby.
I waited for my food and heard one of the employees casually cursing every other word he spoke, calling everyone bro, all while the few guests in the lobby were watching them.
I got my food, but no napkins, silverware, etc. No problem. I got up to get my own from a customer facing tray full of napkins, disposables forks, knives, etc.
I smile at the guy behind the grill and grab a fork. He says I need to ask for any of those things, "bro." I couldn't tell if he was joking at first, but he affirmed any forward facing napkins and utensils, I need to ask to be given to me because there's other customers. No sign saying we couldn't self serve. I didn't expect that given it's customer facing.
Between the lunch full of F words and being unkindly told I couldn't have a napkin and fork without asking, I probably won't come back. Professionalism is pretty low here.
The food was...
