Unfortunately, our experience at this restaurant was quite disappointing, primarily due to the poor service we received from the younger female server.
To start, she forgot my drink order. While mistakes happen, I had to remind her to bring it. When our food arrived, we noticed the biryani was vegetarian instead of the chicken biryani we had ordered. When we pointed this out, she insisted we had ordered the vegetarian option, which we had not. After some back and forth, she finally took it back, and the correct dish was eventually brought out.
The food itself was mediocre. We had specifically requested our dishes to be spicy, but everything lacked heat and flavor.
What was most frustrating, however, was the experience at the end of our meal. Around 9:18 PM, we asked to order chai and were told the kitchen was closed. While the restaurant doesn’t close until 10 PM, no one gave us a heads-up that the kitchen would be shutting down early or that we should get in any last orders. It felt as though the server was simply trying to rush us out. She was disengaged, unwelcoming, and seemed uninterested in providing a good dining experience.
Lastly, it was hard not to notice a stark difference in how we were treated compared to other tables, particularly non–South Asian customers, who appeared to receive more attentive and courteous service.
We were really hoping for a better experience but unfortunately left...
Read moreWe dined here as a family of four. Our son has a significant nut allergy and we let the waitress know about this when we were ordering. We were surprised to hear that a lot of the dishes on the menu contain nuts. There is no allergy labelling on the menu. The waitress said she would tell the chef about the nut allergy and a nut free chicken curry would be prepared for our son. When the dishes arrived, we checked again that the curry cooked for our son was indeed nut free and we were reassured it was.
After a couple of mouthfuls our son then started to have a reaction with tingling, and swelling of his lips and a tightening feeling in his throat. We recognised these symptoms straight away and told the waitress that he was having a reaction. Luckily with self management we did not have to give him his Epipen. We paid and left.
We are concerned as we feel this was a serious event for our son. We would please ask the restaurant management/owner to carry out an full internal review of this event to identify lessons that need to be learned and to review their internal policies and procedures with regards to managing the risk of food allergies in the restaurant for future customers who have...
Read more🌟 5/5 – From Indy to Flavor Paradise! 🌟 We stumbled upon this absolute hidden gem and are SO glad we did! Being from Indianapolis, we’re always on the lookout for amazing food, and this place blew us away.
First off, the butter chicken was insanely good – rich, creamy, and bursting with perfectly balanced spices. It had that slow-cooked depth you usually only get from grandma’s kitchen. We were licking the bowl, no shame. 🤤 And the onion pakora? Crispy, golden perfection with just the right kick – honestly some of the best we’ve had.
What made the experience even better was meeting the niece of the owner (her uncle just opened the place!) – she was super sweet and told us they’re new and trying to get the word out. So here we are, shouting it from the rooftops: GO. TO. THIS. PLACE.
We even told her about one of our local favorites in Brownsburg called Bob’s Kitchen – another spot serving up incredible food with heart.
If you’re anywhere nearby, make the trip. Check out both of these amazing places. Support small, support local, and treat your taste buds to something unforgettable. You won’t...
