Popo's Local Bistro — Restaurant in Orlando

Popos Bistro is such a hidden gem! Located just minutes from the convention center and Universal resorts and only about 20 minutes from Disney, it’s the perfect spot for locals and visitors alike. The menu is incredible – inspired by the owner and his wife’s travels – and every dish is crafted with care. We loved the signature cheeseburger with its amazing garlic sauce, the country breakfast bowl with a fresh, handmade biscuit, and the ultimate egg sandwich. Their “hash bomb” is out of this world – the cheesiest hand-shredded hashbrowns paired with the best sausage gravy I’ve ever had.

The vibe is so relaxed, with options to dine in, take out, or sit outside in the quiet, peaceful patio area. The staff is among the best I’ve ever experienced: kind, attentive, and genuinely welcoming. The owner is so knowledgeable, and the chef’s decades of experience really shine through in every dish. Plus, they make all their pastries from scratch twice a week and partner with a local coffee roaster for fresh specialty coffees that are absolutely delicious.

Dining at Popo’s Bistro (pronounced Pop-o’s) was nothing short of amazing. From the very first bite, it was clear that this place delivers food on the level of an upscale restaurant—creative, flavorful, and beautifully prepared. One standout was the ham sliders with pineapple: perfectly balanced, savory with just the right touch of sweetness. Absolutely delicious, and a dish we’d recommend to anyone.

The warmth of the owner and chef made the experience even more special—they were genuinely friendly, engaging, and clearly passionate about what they do. Service was excellent throughout the afternoon, attentive without being overbearing. Prices are more than reasonable considering the high quality of both the food and the overall experience.

Though it’s a bit off the beaten path and has only been open for two months, Popo’s Bistro is already a gem worth discovering. This place exceeded every expectation, and we’ll definitely be returning during our stay in Orlando. It’s the kind of restaurant that makes you excited to tell...

A beautiful experience!

We look for a new cafe every week to try out and we happened upon my personal favorite, Popo’s Local Bistro.

We were greeted by the kind staff there who wanted to ensure we had a good experience.

The owner, Gregg (Popo) introduced himself to us and sat down to converse with us some about the bistro. His customer focused attitude made all the difference.

The chef, (Roberto) came out from the kitchen to introduce himself and tell us about the preparation of the meal. It is obvious he is passionate about his art and wanted to ensure that everyone was satisfied.

We even had the opportunity to meet “Big Will” with a “big heart”. What an emotional experience that was.

I have been won over completely by my experience and plan to make this bistro my home. I do not even live in Orlando, I live about an hour away. I already look forward to eating here again next week! I already know what I am going to order, the signature burger, affogato and the cheese danish. 🤤
