Park City, Utah is sort of a culinary wasteland, so thankfully there's Alberto's! This is an all-around great Mexican restaurant. The staff is friendly, they have a drive through window, they're open super late all year, it's clean, the food is cheap, and the quality of the ingredients is first class.
My go-to meal here are the chicken fajitas ($8.99). You get made to order grilled chicken and veggies (peppers and onions) topped with melted cheese, a generous side of spicy rice and refried beans, and two giant flour tortillas (that may not be made in house but they are the kind filled with that delicious lardy goodness). I've never had a bad meal at Alberto's. The burritos are huge and stuffed with the same high quality ingredients. They don't take shortcuts, which I appreciate. The guacamole is fantastic, and they have a good assortment of tortas, salads, and homemade churros (99 cents!) for those of you who aren't fans of Mexican food.
They have some great homemade hot sauces with varying degrees of heat (you can ask for them at the drive through window too if you aren't dining in), but this place would be even better if they had a salsa bar like rival El Chubasco (they don't). Still, their housemade sauces more than make up for it, and they blow El Chubasco out of the water.
The interior dining room is spotlessly clean and comfortable, and they have an upstairs loft with additional seating that's open during busy times (ski season and Sundance). The parking lot can get crowded because it's shared with a business center, and getting in and out of the place can be a real pain when there's a ton of traffic in the city. But don't let these minor things deter you from...
Read moreI WISH I COULD GIVE THIS PLACE A ZERO. I came here for the first time yesterday and ordered carne asada fries. I've definitely had better, EXTREMLY DISSAPOINTED! You get more fries(which were over cooked) than anything, nothing taste seasoned and there wasn't enough cheese melted over to cover the fries. This whole execution was a total FAIL! On my way home today I decided to give them one more try since my co-workers were raving about it. I ordered a half size carne asada burrito. LET ME TELL YOU, this was the most puny and pathetic burrito I've ever ordered in my LIFE! They give you a TINY scoup of flavorless meat, a SPRINKLE of pico de gallo and a SPLASH of guacamole! TOTAL WASTE OF MONEY! Aburitto from DEL TACO would have been more fulfilling and would have actually had some FLAVOR! I had to add stuff to it once I got home to make sure I got full off of it. And the cashier is FULL OF S! I asked her if it were a good size and she tells me "Oh yea, one could definitely fill me up" Thanks a lot for helping me waste my money b*! I would have been even more pissed had I bought the "full" burrito. That ones probably not even the size of a normal burrito! NEVER WILL I EVER GO HERE AGAIN or recommend this...
Read moreI'm from San Diego - I eat either a carne asada or pollo asado burrito at least once a week.
I got the carne asada burrito. This is one of if not the worst burrito I have ever had. As others have mentioned, the size is large and the price is reasonable ($12 and change after tax).
The burrito itself, however, was cold all the way through. The guacamole and steak were completely flavorless. It also had several pieces of sinew that I couldn't even chew through. The tomatoes in the pico de gallo were also pungently sour - never had this in my life.
The burrito was also wrapped in such a way that the filling came out of the bottom. I ate just enough to satiate my appetite and to not feel like I just wasted $12 - after that I threw it in the trash.
The red salsa they offered had ZERO spice to it - felt like I was just pouring water onto an already flavorless burrito.
