I watched this TikTok where the guy was saying 3.5 is the sweet spot for Chinese restaurants. 4 and above too many white people are going and its prob expensive and below 3 your risking it. I found this true.
I found myself at a training for 5 days across the street. I am vegan so Chinese was a welcome sight. First--the cook and staff are chinese and their english isnt great. Hot sauce and hot doesn't really get across but ask for siracha they have that.
I love the place I have eaten there 4 nights in a row. I only get time to eat like an actual meal a day and this is my place. The General Tsos tofu is great. I enjoyed all the tofu dishes I have had.
One night I was the only one there and some grandmother was alone in the kitchen. I always just point at what I want on the menu. That seems to get across fastest. She came out and was sooooo cool. I got country tofu and I think she knocked it out of the park.
I like the prices as well. Seems fair. Look people gripe about this place but I think there is a language barrier. But for me thats a feature not a bug. The cooks and waiter are all old chinese so your getting authentic food. You can find chinese restaurants filled with white cooks and folks who will get your modifications word for word and give you white persons chinese food...but this place is real.
The veggie rolls are good also. I will have eaten here 5 nights in a row for my only real meal and I am glad they are...
Read moreTruthfully this review should have no stars. First red flag: their hours are listed as one time here, and a completely different time at their restaurant. We stopped here two hours before the show at Keller started. We were the first seated party in the restaurant. Two other large tables sat down around this time as well. We waited for 45 minutes to have our order taken. Both the other tables had received their entire meals. We had still not ordered. I went to the front counter and asked if we could order, we had all decided. She came over about 10 minutes later. We ordered with three separate checks. She brought out the first two checks meals first. They came at about 45 minutes after ordering. All in all it had been about an hour and a half. No food. No drinks. No appetizers. Not a look from any staff.
After that I got up and I asked if I could cancel my order. She looked at about 12 tickets on the counter. She found ours, and asked why, and I kindly explained waiting an hour and a half for chow mein is just a little too long for me. She didn’t apologize and didn’t even look at me.
I know restaurants are busy, but having one waiter for an entire restaurant, is not helpful or efficient. I left hangry.
Now the sushi place down the...
Read moreThe crab wanton was good, but like so many others, has no crabmeat. The 4 meats kung pao specialty dish is marked spicy, but for those who like spicy food, it’s not spicy at all and way too salty. There are no peppers in here. I would have loved some red chilis. And I would have loved only a pinch of salt. I’m going to have to drink a lot of lemon water to offset this.
The guy was really nice, and the food was fast. If you’re a woman eating alone, reconsider this as a relaxing place to dine. A guy came in for takeout and was point blank staring at me while I was eating, even after I looked up and he could tell I was uncomfortable. This isn’t the restaurant’s fault, but I’ll probably never come here again.
Oh btw, expect about $1.40 per person credit card fee. In addition to parking. Nice people and rent is expensive I’m sure but most people would happily pay more for quality food. All fees need to be disclosed up front. If you’re going to charge more, build it into the price, don’t tack it on at the end...
