I found the service to be friendly and pretty quick, although if brining napkins and forks is not done by default, please tell us where to find them. I waited to see if I could ask our server, then got up and looked around.
I took my friend to lunch - this place was his idea as he was staying nearby and thought pizza would be a good option.
He ordered a pepperoni slice. I ordered their chicken parm sandwich w/ ceasar side and we got an order of the garlic parm tater tots to share.
I like hot food to be hot. The dish of tots arrived and I nabbed one and it was barely warm, and also appeared under-done - not golden brown. the server replaced it. The second order was warmer, but still rather pale and looking undercooked and correspondingly not crispy.
My friend 'eats like a bird' as grandma used to say - so he ALWAYS gets a to-go box and brings half his meal home. He did not do that here and said re-warming the pizza would be likely to just make it more greasy.
Normally, when a chicken parm anything is served, you get a grilled boneless portion of chicken. This was more like a Tyson patty and about 'school lunch size' if that's descriptive enough. I was very hungry and ate it without complaining. The caeser side was OK, aside from the missing fork, etc. We each had a beer and the server was knowledgeable about that and we both liked our selections.
Now, plan A after lunch was to head to the grocery store. However, since thyroid surgery in January, I'm easily fatigued, so I opted to head home and nap. When I got up a few hours later, I was miserable and I thought perhaps it was related to tapering off the thyroid meds that were causing a wide array of unpleasant side effects. Anyhow, my entire gut hurt and I couldn't walk upright. I really thought I was cratering and wanted to go to the hospital, but at the same time, I didn't feel well enough to drive, nor did I feel it was acute enough to summon an ambulance since I was conscious and not bleeding or having cardiac symptoms. Likewise, I wasn't willing to pay Lyft $30 to go to OHSU. It was a dilemma and due to the pain and worry, I couldn't think straight. It was BAD. I'm not sure how much time I spent in this state, but I improved enough to know I didn't need the hospital after I passed gas and threw up.
Before you wonder - I NEVER hold waitstaff accountable for bad food or food delays and I don't tip a flat percentage but have a general rule if I have a sit-down meal alone, I tip $5. With covid reducing diners, I have doubled my personal rules and tip more, usually $10 especially if I'm with a guest. So, I could see going back for a beer, but I wouldn't touch anything else there, nor at any other...
Read moreNot the greatest. The customer service is clearly catered to those that the employees know that come in. I saw this mentioned in other reviews, but yeah it's true. The guy working tonight that took my order, glasses with short dark hair, seemed annoyed at me. I came in looked at the pizza In the case, decided what I wanted then walked to the left of the case because I thought that's were you order. There's two computer check out screens and receipt printers right there, so makes sense to me to order there.. silly me though. The guy with glasses snaps at me that you order over here, to my right. He just stares at me and sarcastically asks what I want. I tell him and I say "thank you" no response. He turns away, types on his computer, turns back around mumbles out my total. I pay and say "thank you" again. Silence from him. Then he practically yells at me that my food will come out when ready. Im about to turn to walk away, but I ask for a water cup. He gets it, I say "thank you" silence. Again. No response. Notice that's THREE "thank yous" from me... None from him? Lol.. I guess he was to busy thinking about showing his buddies at the bar whatever was on his phone which he was doing most of the time I looked in that direction. The food.. meh. All I will say about the pizza, is that it tastes like pizza you get at a restaurant, put in the fridge as leftovers, then try to heat up in the microwave the next day.. old, grainy and just not right. I ended up not finishing it and still leaving hungry. There's so many amazing places for pizza in Portland, this is one that is definitely not...
Read moreDOORDASH FROM HELL: So I arrive at the store at 5:20 (order is already paid and Doordash predicts the order will be ready by 5:24). The bartender doesn't even recognize my existence until 5:26 which he tells me will be ready in ten minutes. He then informs me at 5:40 that "I should just chill or try canceling the order" because it's gonna be another 30-40 minutes as they haven't even started it yet. I call the customer who tells me they're fine with waiting so I then proceed to wait until 6:08 for them to finish every order in the restaurant before they finish mine. You'd think we were finished but oh, we're just getting started. I get into my car and attempt to finish pickup in the app, but the app won't allow me to complete pickup for some reason. Since the customer has already been waiting 30+ minutes, I just call them up and get their address so I can at least deliver the food. After delivery, the app still won't allow me to complete pickup so I spend another 20 minutes messing with it until I decide to call the merchant and see if there's anything wrong on their side. They inform me that they "messed up and never marked the food as complete". This massive mistake caused the delivery window to malfunction so I wasn't able to accept any new orders until 7:47PM. because of this restaurant's total negligence and utter disrespect, I lost 2 hours of work time for a grand total of $10. But hey, at least the bartender was able to chill with his buddy while he pretended I didn't exist. WILL NEVER DELIVER FROM THIS...
