Absolutely terrible Indian food for the greater Seattle area. My party arrived at the restaurant at 7:30pm on a Friday night. It took us until 8:10 to get a table. That can be forgiven - a good restaurant is bound to have a wait time. Yet it only went downhill from there. We placed our first order with the waitress by 8:20. The food was definitely on the pricier side so we wanted to order a little first to see what the portion size was looking like. That order itself took until 9:00 to arrive. Before 9:00pm we also placed two more orders - one for us to eat because we were worried about the time and another as takeout for a family member at home. Eventually, after we finished the first round, the takeout order came. It didn't strike us that anything was wrong until time continued to pass and the second order still didn't come. We later found out that they had forgotten about it. At this point it was 9:50 and we were so tired and had lost our appetite that we just had them cancel it for us. Now onto the food.
We ordered a few types of naan, two side dishes (paneer tikka and the kofta), chilli paneer, and hot and sour soup. All of the food was extremely bland and sweet. Did someone dump an extra cup of sugar in this?? The kofta itself was especially disappointing. There were only 3 balls!! The bullet naan we ordered also had no flavor or spice. The garlic naan was average. The chilli paneer was given to us severely undercooked. The hot and sour soup tasted artificial and like maggi sauce out of the bottle.
Finally, when the waitress was refilling my glass of water a bit of food poured into the glass. It was nasty.
I will give it a plus for the ambiance. The interior was absolutely gorgeous and the bathrooms were well maintained. The exterior does not live up to the interior though - I walked in with low expectations that should've been a warning for the rest of the night.
In the end, the food was average. If I was getting it as takeout from a random restaurant on the side of a street after a long drive I would probably be happy. It was the wait times, subpar service, and prices that forced me to pay attention to these details. I will not be coming back to this restaurant and I am disappointed in my...
Read moreWe went here for a pre movie dinner and it was pretty disappointing. There were few other parties in the restaurant and we were sat immediately. We looked at the menu and ordered after some time but it turned out that most of the menu was unavailable and had X’s marked in them with a marker. After we ordered our food and drinks, the server double checked the order and forgot my cocktail so I reminded her which was fine. She came back shortly after and asked us about a lamb dish that we didn’t order and we told her this and she looked confused. I had to tell her that I wanted to order something that was not available and that we didn’t order anything with lamb. Later, the other ordered drinks came out, but mine didn’t. The food arrived and I asked about my drink and she tried to play it off that she was checking on it but it was obvious that it was forgotten. I got it toward the end of the meal. Someone else from my party ordered a second drink and it was not good so they asked to exchange it since literally only a sip was taken out of it, and they said that the drink was how it is “supposed to be” so we would have to pay for the drink he didn’t like and whatever other drink that was ordered instead. The food was okay. We paid for everything and tipped the proper 20% but the service here is horrible, everyone is standing and staring but they are not warm nor welcoming. Every time we said anything to the servers they would look at the one Indian girl in the party as if what we were saying was inconvenient or outlandish which was odd because we were very kind and weren’t asking anything difficult. Overall, I try to be gracious because I have worked in food service, but I would not recommend this to anyone and certainly won’t be going back. I hope management makes adjustments to the menu so it accurately shows what food is available and they train the staff on proper customer...
Read moreWe visited during their soft opening, so some delay was expected — but not to this extent. We placed our order an hour in advance and still didn’t receive anything. When we asked, we were told it would take another 25 minutes. The service was extremely poor.
It wasn’t just our table — no one was getting their food on time. Every order was taking over an hour, even for basic starters. People were repeatedly going up to the counter to check on their food. We were told their ticketing system wasn’t working, so the chef wasn’t receiving orders. But even then, it was unclear what the kitchen staff was doing during that time.
When you open a new restaurant, especially during a soft launch, it’s important to stay connected with customers and continuously gather feedback. That effort was clearly missing.
We ordered a few starters — Chilli Paneer, Dahi Puri, and Soya Chaap Lababdar. All were just okay, nothing particularly impressive. We also tried Mango Lassi and Aam Panna, which were again, average.
For the main course, we had Dal Makhani and Makhmali Malai Kofta along with Laccha Paratha, Tandoori Roti, and Paneer Malai Kulcha. The curries were decent — not too good, not too bad. But the breads were a complete letdown; they were crispy like papad, lacking any softness or freshness. Surprisingly, all the bread varieties felt the same. We gave them feedback after dinner, and they mentioned it was due to an issue with their tandoor, which they plan to replace. I was also surprised to hear they use a tandoor for Laccha Paratha.
Since this was a soft opening, I don’t want to judge them too harshly or give a typical star rating just yet. Based on the experience, I would have rated them 1 or 2 stars. However, considering it’s their initial launch and they have time to improve, I’m giving them 4 stars in good faith and hope they address these...
