I've been a resident of Redmond for a number of years and have frequented RBG many times over the years, going back to when it was Oddfellows. I've always enjoyed the food and atmosphere there, even if the service wasn't always stellar. However, like many places post-covid, their appeal is in decline. We went to watch the last Seahawks preseason game which was a breakfast event for us. Now, RGB bills itself as a sports bar. Lots of TV's, a couple big screens, etc. and they can't figure out how to get game sound on their system and nobody seems to know who to call. When one of our group asked the waitress if they were going to get the sound going, she replied in a seriously snotty way "they already told you "NO"". Of course, no one had said that. Me being me, I stewed on that for a minute and then called her over and let her know, without any uncertainty, that the only reason were there, spending a lot of $$$, was to watch the game WITH SOUND and the last thing I wanted to hear was her talking down to our party. She seemed to soften a little bit and said she'd have the manager come over. Never happened. So, we packed up and left. Besides all of that, the food (except for the potatoes) was mediocre at best. One of our party had their Huevos Rancheros. The chips were stale, the beans inside were dry and it was altogether terrible. No excuse for serving food that bad. I'll never go back until and unless they get their act back together. Cheers.
9/6/23 - This is in response to management's reply to the above review:
The assertion that I or anyone in our party made sexist and/or rude remarks to your staff is completely inaccurate. What was unacceptable was when one of our party mentioned the lack of sound to our primary waitress her response was rude, condescending and dismissive. No one in our party insulted her in any way. The only discussion was about the lack of sound and our frustration with staff's response to our concerns. In addition, the idea that other patrons commented on our "behavior" is ludicrous. There were no raised voices, there was no rude language nor was there ever any personal attacks of any sort. In addition, there was hardly anyone there and no one even near us. Your response is indicative of everything this is wrong with your operation. Staff hasn't been trained property on how to use the equipment or who to call when it fails. As I explained to our waitress, we came there and spent a lot of money in anticipation of watching the game there with sound. That's not just an inconvenience. We didn't blame staff. Not their fault they're not trained. Our only issue with our waitress was the attitude already described and that if, as you say, they were trying their best to get the sound on there was no relay of that information to us. Again, no one in our group spoke out of line or belittled any of your staff. The bottom line is, train your people property, fix the kitchen and don't resort to intellectually bankrupt BS/CYA responses when someone expresses a valid complaint. Not one...
Read moreRedmond's Bar & Grill isn't a place I would've chosen for dinner, but my husband wanted to give it a shot. It was exactly as I anticipated (as my expectations weren't high), my husband was disappointed.
The pros:
All staff seemed friendly
Food came in a timely manner
Atmosphere was somewhat cozy
The cons:
Husband said restroom smelled of urine. I usually make a visit to the restroom to help judge a restaurant but didn't this time, so I can't speak to the cleanliness of the ladies' room.
Nachos were a fair price at the Happy Hour $7, but definitely weren't worth more. While the portion was large, the toppings were VERY basic and sparse. Barely any cheese on my side of the pile. Tiny dollops of guacamole and sour cream. Some of the chips tasted stale.
Husband ordered the peanut butter bacon burger. We'd planned to split our burgers, as we usually do, but after one bite of his I chose to keep all of my own. Burger was ordered medium, but cooked well-done. While the menu stated all burgers are 7oz., his patty looked much smaller than mine (likely due to overcooking). Meat was, needless to say, dry. Peanut butter tasted odd, like plastic. The price of $15.95 would've been high for a decent burger, but was absolutely ridiculous for this awful menu item. Server was informed of the overcooked burger and a $6 discount was included on our ticket.
I ordered the bomber burger. Based on the description and price, I expected a fantastic burger. It was fine, that's all. Something I would expect to find on the 'fancy' section of an IHOP or Denny's menu. Cooked to my preference and the size was sufficient. The crispy onions were on my burger, but I wouldn't have guessed that by taste or texture. It was simply an average burger, with an absurd price tag of $16.95. Definitely the most over-priced burger I've had.
We went the entire meal without our server refilling our water glasses. We kept pushing them closer to the edge, hinting that we needed more. It was hard to spot Kaitlin, but everytime we did, we were unable to catch her attention (she did not bring out any of our food, other staff did). Eventually, I took our glasses to the bar and asked the very polite bartender to fill them. We are typically very generous tippers, but this inattentiveness was reflected in our tip.
I have no desire to return to Redmond's Bar & Grill. And my husband, for the 500th time, has admitted that he should trust my...
Read moreTL;DR: typical sports bar.
Parking: street-side only.
Atmosphere: typical sports bar feel.
Menu: straight forward and descriptive, no images for the visually stimulated.
Service: wait to be seated, order at the table, check brought to you, you will be watered.
Kid Friendly: kid's menu with crayons, high chair, plastic cup with straw,
Cubano: a nice blend of salty and sour with a hint of spice, is great with the fries but is going to be coma-inducing because of all the carbs haha.
Side Quinoa Salad: lightly flavored and fluffy with a hint of tang. I was a fan of the little crunchy and chewy bits of nuts and dried fruit. A nice palate cleanser in between bites of salty or spicy meals.
Things I ordered ToGo:
Chicken Skewers: chicken was on the dry side and didn't have much flavor by itself despite its vibrant yellow coloring. I also had a piece that was undercooked and was still pink and red inside--I promptly spat it out and microwaved it to finish cooking it off. A bit scary if you're not paying attention. I did enjoy the cilantro sauce that it comes with though.
Fish and Chips: totally not worth the $18.50. Only came with 3 pieces of fish that were the size of a grade schooler's palm. The breading was nice and crispy still but the cod inside was a bit dry and almost had a rubbery texture. Also, the tartar sauce that I was given didn't even fill up 1/3 of the already small sauce container--I ran out of sauce before I could say, "fish and chips". The garlic parmesan fries had a good flavor but were very soggy and limp when it arrived via delivery. This would definitely be a better item to order while dining in...
