Before even starting my order I watched the cashier be rude over a missing nino on a different customer's order.
The communication between the first employee and the cashier/line employee, involving what we wanted to order was not there. When I asked to add beans and rice on my tacos I got looked at like I was crazy. Then she stood and waited to add the rice and beans until I answered her pico and lettuce questions. I tried to explain to her the order my children wanted their food prepared and she was simply rude. She proceeded to put my rice and beans on the side not in my tacos.
I was originally charged for 3 taco meals at the register. When I explained to the cashier that the food was put in separate tins for convenience to feed my children she continued to aruge with me saying that they were complete meals cause they all had rice and beans on the side. I reminded her that I didn't ask for them on the side, I simply wanted a bit of rice and beans in each tacos, equivalent to a spoonful of each. The total amount of rice and beans not even coming close to a side. She then said she would just charge me for two sides in addition to my 3 tacos. I tried to explain that I didn't ask for sides, and that was her mistake in adding them to my plate.
At this point my family is ansy. I paid and sat down to feed my family and to look at the receipt. I returned to the cashier and explain that even after paying for the three tacos I felt that she still over charged me for my total meal. She got sassy and I walked away seeing that I was getting no where with her.
This was a terrible experience at this restaurant. All staff unfriendly. The rice was also undercooked. The cashier and other employees performed food trading, cupcakes, at the cashier counter. While I was standing in front of of the cashwrap waiting for the cashier to ring me up. This was not only rude, but the food, cupcakes, coming through the kitchen is probably against health...
Read moreAfter having multiple bad experiences with the service here I felt like I had to review it. The wait time is always very long, it takes 20-30 minutes to get through the line, even with 6 people in front of you. This is very grueling with children. We usually pick Cafe Rio because it's fast but good fresh food and very family friendly. This location that is not the case at all. Today when we decided to try it again since we love this restaurant and it had been a month or so since we last went. Again we were in line a very long time even without that many customers in front of us. By the time we made it to the end of the line they couldn't find my order and they were going to have to start it again. * I should also mention our party was split up, they had my sisters food done and then cut in between our order to make 10 Salads for an online order before even acknowledging I was there again. At this point they brought over the Nino quesadillas we had ordered and they were burned with huge black circles all over it. ( I saw the manager putting them on the plates so he was very aware they were burned and unediable) By then I just had to leave, my children were hungry and tired of standing in line. And I could not wait for them to remake my tacos and my children's food. I told the girls politely to not worry about my order anymore. They didn't say a word, not a sorry or we apologize for this huge inconvenience. They just watched me walk away without saying one thing. The manager was even working and didn't come over or say anything to my family. We went next door and bought sandwhichs , which took us 5 minutes from ordering to actually sitting down to eat. I understand they are busy but acknowledging s customer or explaining to them what's going on instead of ignoring or acting annoyed when we ask where our order is would be a much better way to...
Read moreI usually don’t do reviews but I felt I had to do one because what happened was unacceptable. Today my family and I went to Cafe Rio, as we were eating I found on my burrito a black rectangular plastic object like the size of a quarter, I took it out of my mouth and couldn’t tell what it was. It felt extremely disgusting and all desire to keep eating went away. I kindly went to the cashier guy and gave him the plastic object and told him it was really disgusting and that it was very dangerous to find that in the food, imagine if it was my 1 year old or my 3 year old who would have eaten it and it was obviously a potential choking hazard. When I told him my concern he took the object and said he would take care of it and just threw it away. I was very surprised of how lightly he took the situation. I was hoping he would at least offer a refund of the burrito I didn’t even finish of course. Finding a plastic object on your food not knowing where it had been was disgusting. I went back to my seat very disappointed at the resolution. My wife was also annoyed and disgusted she didn’t want to keep eating her food either. So I stood up again and told him that I would like a refund and that I would like to speak with the manager. The manager came and I was even more surprised of how lightly she took the situation. She refunded me only my burrito. I think what she should have done was to acknowledge that what happened was unacceptable and that dinner was on them because they ruined our dinner altogether. She only refunded me my burrito. They took it as if was a normal situation. I told her that it could be a choking hazard and didn’t even know where that was. My wife didn’t finish her food either and of course I didn’t let my kids finish theirs. Still I had to pay for that. Very disappointed of how lightly they treated such a serious situation,...
