WeDaShii — Restaurant in Sacramento

I really wanted to like WeDaShii… I thought the vibe was cute and welcoming. We were brought in by the Happy Hour specials. $4 Sake Bomb. $3 Oyster… Went in 5 minutes before Happy hour ended. The server seemed irritated that we were ordering specials so close to the end of happy hour. The service felt very rushed and we didn’t feel like a priority despite the restaurant not being super busy.

This next part is why I had to leave a one star review. We ordered a half dozen oysters, they took probably 20 minutes to come out. They looked beautiful and we tried them immediately. However. I noticed a small black worm wriggling around on the shell of my oyster.

I regularly eat oysters from many different restaurants. I have NEVER. Seen a worm in an oyster. We sent the oysters back and I ran to the bathroom. When we sent them back, one of the employees claimed that it’s normal for there to be worms on the outside of the shell sometimes. He trailed off midsentence and walked away halfway through his explanation which made me think he didn’t even believe it himself.

After we sent the oysters back, nobody came to check on us or even offer an apology. We were ignored for the rest of the time we were in the restaurant until we left.

We also ordered a sushi roll and the sushi chef working the front was kind and let us know that the kitchen was working on our oysters. The sushi roll was perfectly tasty(we ordered the Fuji apple veggie roll) and no issues aside from nobody offering wasabi or ginger or a sauce tray with our roll.

Unfortunately I won’t be dining here again and would not recommend...

1st: no hostess at the front when you walk in.

2nd: we ordered and put everything all at once. The appetizers (stuffed mushrooms) came out quick and tasted fine. Nothing spectacular.

Then we waited about 40 mins for sushi rolls. .. not deep fried or intricate in anyway. Two sushi rolls came out one by one at completely different times. Like spaced out 15 mins apart. We ended up asking for a follow up and the server told us that there were a lot of orders which is why it was taking so long except most of the restaurant was empty and people that got there after us got their food before us. After an hour, One of us didnt get our food and everyone else was still waiting on something else that they ordered. We ended up cancelling the rest of the order because we had waited over an hour and food was still not ready.

The ramen was literally just broth and noodles with like 2 pieces of thin pork.

I never even got seaweed salad... and edemame was brought out last, both items should be relatively fast to come out.

Just dont go here honestly. We ended up going somewhere else so everyone could...

For me this spot definitely hits the sushi spot for me. A lot of the rolls are very consistent across whichever you may choose and is so delicious. Even their stuffed mushrooms are off the hook.

12/24/24 update: a few days ago, I literally had the best meal of my life here with friends. The salmon belly sashimi and nigiri are my absolute favorite ( I didn't take a picture 😭), but I always get great service and it's my all time favorite sushi restaurant. In my opinion, this is better than Kru, but the sushi boat I uploaded was amazing. I paid way less than I thought and Legend and the other chefs are amazing. I wouldn't go to another sushi place if I have friends visiting. The hot sake is very reasonably priced and I love this place and the consistency. My review is still 5/5 and honestly it's that freaking delicious so check it out. If you have a friend or family visiting, go here. But definitely gotta get the seared salmon belly sashimi or nigiri.
