The Shop Midtown — Restaurant in Sacramento

I had an amazing experience and highly recommend this location. I called to ask a few questions and Al, one of the owners had the best customer service ever. I planned on bringing my sister here for a celebratory moment and he was able to let me know they have deserts and he offered to help me with my vision on cue etc. After coming in. The atmosphere is great, open dining, bar seating, high and low table seating and very welcoming staff. I like that the menu has much to choose from. I'm a vegetarian and they were actually able to let me customize one of their dishes that was satisfying to my liking and still delicious. Instead of the chimichuri steak fries, I substituted it for "loaded fried, replaced the steak with guacamole, vegetables,and sourcream. I really appreciated that, not every establishment allows that. The vibes were great, staff were very attentive and our server "Lisa" was just the sweetest ever!

After we were done eating, Al was very prompt and motioned for the server to bring the desert out and they helped with my surprise and I was able to congratulate my sister on her accomplishments and the chocolate dessert with ice cream was literally the cherry on top. We stopped by The Shop Midtown on a Tuesday afternoon around 2:30 PM for a late lunch, and it was a great experience. The staff and owner were super friendly and welcoming, which really elevated the vibe. Even though they don’t have their liquor license yet, their Soju selection was impressive and they had a solid lineup of beers to choose from.

We started with the loaded fries — crispy and flavorful, definitely a good way to kick things off. For our main, we ordered the Hot Rod Smashburger, which came with fries. The burger was solid and came out fast. Bonus: Tuesdays come with a buy-one-get-one-50%-off deal, which made the whole meal feel like a steal.

It’s not the most mind-blowing food I’ve had, but for a casual, neighborhood-style spot with good energy and solid service, I think The Shop has a lot of potential. I’d definitely come back and look forward to seeing...

The Shop is a must try! The food is delicious, fresh, and made custom. My family and I tried the Chimichuri steak sandwich and some Buffalo wings. The Chimichurri was fresh and the perfect amount of tangy. It was nice and big, which made it possible to share. The wings were crispy on the outside, and the meat easily came off the bone. The sauce had a great taste and wasn't too spicy. While the food was excellent, the shining stars of this restaurant were definitely the staff! Lisa, our server, was super sweet and attentive. A couple of the owners checked in on us to ask how we were doing and chat a bit which really made us feel appreciated.
