I went to this place a few years ago and loved it, so, I suggested we go here for my sister's birthday dinner. The restaurant was busy on a Saturday night, so if you're planning on going here, plan accordingly.
After about a 45 minute wait, I asked Jenn at the front desk how many people were ahead of us. She said, "there is one group ahead of you, but two tables were being prepared right now, so you'll be seated immediately." One group came up and was seated, then another, and another, and another. So, I asked the front desk, Jenn, again about when we would be seated. Before I could finish my question as to why four groups had been seated ahead of us, when there was only one other group before, Jenn snapped, nearly yelling at me and said you only had one group ahead of you, but that was for large groups, smaller ones are the ones who were seated before you and I didn't count those when I told you before. She turned and walked away before I could reply. The other lady at the front desk could tell that didn't go well at all. She apologized over and over for Jenn and confirmed that it was a valid question and thanked me for not being upset. I was floored by Jenn's complete lack of customer service skills, since that's her job and the first interaction customers have with the business. Our server was amazing, thanks Jacey, you and the other lady at the front desk were the redeeming factors for service here.
On a not Jenn related review, the food was pretty good. We had two orders of wontons, one was perfect, the second was overcooked and pretty dark in color, the pot stickers were cold on the middle, like barely not frozen cold. My curry was delicious, but the raw green pepper did not add to the curry. The coconut shrimp was extremely greasy. The orange chicken was fantastic, so was the sushi. I would go back for the food again, depending on what I order. As for atmosphere, the tables were placed so close together that the man at the next table over's chair was between my wife and my daughter. Had he slid back, he would have hit our table. That was a bit uncomfortable and we did feel like we were seated and then shrink wrapped together with the tables...
Read moreThis place has some service issues. The front desk person, I was told her name was Jen, was incredibly rude. We were told our table was being prepared and we were next up. After waiting a while longer my brother went up to the desk to ask since we saw four additional groups pass by and went in. Jen snapped at him and went off. There was a kind woman at the desk (not sure her name, sweet skinny brown haired woman) who apologized to my brother for her behavior and thanked him for being nice in his question about the table and said it was very valid. She profusely apologized. Jen snapped and walked off in the middle of her sentence yelling at my brother and running away from any response he may have. Hey Jen, if you didn’t know, this is bad service.
We sat at our table and the food for the most part was good. We had pot stickers and the centers were ice cold. I had the mango curry and the green bell peppers were raw in it. It didn’t meld well into the soup. The broth and all otherwise was very good. The tables are super close together. We heard our neighbors conversion and their chair was almost touching our table and the other table sat between my sis in law and niece. That’s a first for me.
This place is ok, but there are better places out there and places that you won’t have Jen snap at you for asking a perfectly reasonable question. Who knows what happens if a customer is rude to her. She can’t handle basic reasonable questions with customers who are not approaching her upset.
Thanks sweet lady at the desk who tried to do damage control for Jen. I’m sorry you have to deal with her. Jacey our waitress was very kind and I’d also give her a shout out. Jen, you can learn from...
