Darn. My party's experience was challenging.
I saw a number of positive reviews for this place and so decided to go. Three in our party.
IMPRESSIONS The outdoor signage is dynamic for the pizza upstairs and the pasta downstairs. The inside dining area did not match the invitation it was all a bit tired.
An outdoor eating area seemed inviting but we were told they were no longer seating there. No explanation.
We were seated in what feels like a little diner dungeon. It was tired too and looked like it was a heyday in the 90s.
FOOD A unique menu item, Schezwan Cream sauce and Schezwan Chicken, caught my eye. The bread sticks were better than Olive Garden. The Schezwan was billed as sweet with zing. No zing but very sweet. I wouldn't go for that again if I found it elsewhere.
The noodles were under cooked and the sauce had sat too long, along with the over done meatballs. That sitting creates a semi-burnt texture, one can tell if they've had cooking experience.
SERVICE Efficient and super fast. No real connection with the customer however. Order fast then get going kinda feel. Since we were the last and only customers, the team began putting up chairs and pulled out the vacuum nearby to prepare for our exit long before closing.
After a mediocre if not sad food experience we left swiftly and quietly after paying our bill and tip.
There are not many pasta options in this area so perhaps there is an...
Read moreI continue to be disappointed here. It had been a while since the last time I visited and I figured it was worth a shot to try again, plus the wait was 15 minutes shorter than Benja's, and we were hungry... I was mistaken.
The food was bland and unremarkable. It's obvious they don't salt the pasta water, the pasta was flavorless. The creamy pesto was indeed creamy, but has no discernable flavor of garlic or basil. The portion size was fine, good size for dinner, and the pricing was good.
The service was terrible. Our server seemed like he wished we weren't there. He was curt and rude, and told us they were out of breadsticks when every table around us got an order. As we left, a table of 4 got like 8! And a couple, picking up their to-go order, noted that they got theirs as we joked how we must have needed reservations for the breadstick tables.
The atmosphere here is abysmal, incredibly loud, cramped, and obnoxious. The decor is boring and insignificant (two wooden forks hang on a wall), the lighting is harsh, the seats are hard and uncomfortable.
Overall, I would recommend finding somewhere else, Painted Pony for higher end Italian, Benja's for great Asian/sushi, George's Corner, I would even recommend going across town to Olive Garden instead. This place isn't the absolute worst (at least it was clean and quick) but it's not worth your time when better options...
Read moreTerrible overpriced food for starts, and now after all these years a dinner meal does not include salad any more and it is an additional charge now! When I asked to talk to a manager, I was told Ryan or Brian Could not be found? I was shocked a restaurant doesn’t have a manger available to help during dinner? I Mentioned this to a friend in the owners ward who’s son worked there, and come to find out since new owners took over, they do not require the servers to have a “food servers permit” they were told it’s ok nobody will ask. which seems illegal. They have servers bus tables for the 2 dollars an hour instead of minimum wage and they have to share the tips with the bus boys who make minimum wage for not doing their job. Legally if the servers are bussing or do not make minimum wage through tips the owners need to reimburse them. But not pasta factory it’s a requirement for them and are not reimbursed! I’m sick to my stomach thinking a nice local LDS owned business could be sweeping these things under the rug.... including the mice infestation in the kitchen! After no response from management I’m forced to leave this review. I would gladly invite the owners or management to dispute any of my claims with myself and the department of work force services or health...
