Dave & Buster's Salt Lake City — Restaurant in Salt Lake City

Update, So on June 23rd I call Dave & Buster's to confirm their hours and ask a couple questions about the power cards and digital cards. I then made a specific call back to make sure they were open as I'm in a wheelchair and didn't want to load up and drive all the way out there for them to be closed. Well they were closed, they had a private event. Not one person told me on the phone when they gave me the hours that they were temporarily closed until 8:00 p.m. . When I showed up at 7:00 they were like well we open on an hour, I look at my wife I look at him and I'm like buddy I'm in a wheelchair what am I going to do for an hour. How do you not tell every single person who calls you no matter what the question is that today you are privately booked from 3:00 to 8:00 p.m. or I believe that was the time it could have been 5 to 8:00 p.m. . Yeah they gave us a couple coupons that they were obviously giving the party but it's like spend more money here and save a little bit of money. Well we were trying to spend money there by going there instead we couldn't enter because they were closed. This is so beyond unacceptable I don't even know how it would slip through the cracks to get to this point. If you are closed for a private party don't tell people you're open until 10:00 and come on down. Tell people we're open till 10:00 but right now we have a private party and you can't enter until 8:00 p.m. this is so frustrating it is just taking all the will of me to want to go back away. We just sad because me and my wife always loved Dave & Buster's and this was my first trip out after getting in a wheelchair to try to do a little bit of living. What a disappointment.

While I would like to give it five stars as it totally does deserve it, I feel the food prices and the speed of getting drinks is just a little slow. The food is exactly as good as you'd expect it to be for a Dave and Buster's but not for the amount of money.

On the arcade side that is a total five, today was the first time we noticed a few machines were out of service but we did see them actively trying to fix them. This is an adult arcade and it is the biggest in Utah by far that I've been to and that I think even exists. They do a great job of keeping things clean and keeping up on...

I am extremely unhappy with my experience at Dave and Buster's. They offered a promotion that got me in a the door for 200 free game chips for signing up to the rewards program and all I got was an Error code: 90002. The staff didn't help me with this issue. Since I came in with my kids, it's pretty difficult to walk out without buying chips. The promotion seemed like a ruse to get you in the door. There should be more effort put into making this right. The staff said is that they would take a picture and would look into it. At other places, the establishment will usually make it right somehow (there are so many ways to address this issue), but there was little to no effort put in. Also, the automated machines didn't work, and kept declining my card, so I had to go to a team member. This might sound like a small issue, but when you're taking care of three kids that are overstimulated and wanting to just play a game, this can be a nightmare.

The food service was pretty slow and terrible. The server was nice, but wasn't around to take orders much. I'm not sure if he was busy, or if he was stretched thin. It didn't look very busy, but it looked like things were spread out so I'm not sure if he had to cover a lot of ground. I can't imagine wanting to go back to a Dave and Buster's. The food was expensive and pretty low quality. The drinks were overly sweet.

To top it off, I tried to give this feedback privately to the Dave and Buster's website and there's a 500 character limit. I adjusted my review to 478 characters and it still wouldn't let me submit, so I guess I'll have to post this publicly. Last, the chip prices are VERY expensive and unless you're good a mental math, it's hard to translate the cost of each game, which are in strange increments. One game was around 7-8 chips and other games are 12-15. I know it's basic math, which I can now translate, but as a tired parent in the moment, it's not a fun task.

You should probably save your money and go...

We have been to Dave & busters both at this location & out of state. There are always great games to play old ones air hockey and Skee-Ball and lots of new ones. You almost never have to wait more than one person for the next game. For the first time we tried the virtual reality ride and that was crazy! I actually screamed out loud on it. I did get a tiny tweak in my back but that's my bad. The attendant was very helpful as was the front desk and the seating reservations at the restaurant. We were told it would be an hour to an hour and a half wait and it was only 45 minutes. However when we were seated it was in a room with a large group which we wouldn't have minded except we kind of got ignored by the waiter. He was very quick with drinks and taking the order but we waited almost a full half hour for the bill. One thing I noticed is that typically in a restaurant other waiters will glance at customers that aren't theirs to see if they need anything. At this location, we had three different waiters bypass us when we were trying to get their attention. We typically don't order a LOT of food, so in exchange we usually tip well. And we would have left a decent tip had we not had to wait for such an extended time just to get the bill and get checked out. It would be nice to have the option of taking the bill to the front if the waiter is too busy to check us out. Or maybe have a manager check on waiters that are also serving a large crowd to make sure their other tables are not being neglected. But other than the service the food was great. We ordered a beast burger, I am not typically a burger fan but it was fantastic. The fries were okay nothing to write home about but okay. The chocolate cake we ordered to take home with us.
