A Must-Try New Italian Gem!
We’ve been walking by Galeno’s during its construction for months, eagerly waiting to see what would open—and wow, was it worth the wait. We finally made a reservation and treated ourselves to a night out. Spoiler: it was everything we hoped for and more.
The interior is an Italian bistro setup, styled like a patio under a glass ceiling. Umbrellas over the tables, an open view of the kitchen, and a centrally placed bar—it’s got charm for days. We were seated right away (highly recommend a reservation) and greeted warmly by our server Cynthia—who was perfect. Friendly, attentive, and genuinely helpful with the menu, she guided us through options like a pro. Naturally, we kicked things off with sparkling Pellegrino.
The wine list? Delivered in a full-on binder. You know it’s serious. So many great choices—Italian wines galore—but we stuck with California for the evening: a Fumé Blanc for me and a Cab for my other half.
Bread and sauce arrive first (yes, pasta sauce—not olive oil!), and it’s a flavorful little teaser to start the night. We devoured it while combing through the menu, which is massive. So many tempting options—we’re already planning a return visit.
We started with the Cozze Provençal—mussels in white wine, butter, and olive oil. Hands down, one of the best mussel dishes I’ve had in a while. The sauce was so rich I kept dipping my bread in long after the mussels were gone. Might have sipped it straight. No shame.
Next, we split a Caesar salad with anchovies—bold move, but the payoff was worth it. Crisp lettuce, plenty of shaved parmesan, a well-balanced dressing, and anchovies that gave it the perfect salty edge. Easily one of the top Caesars in town.
For mains, my partner ordered the Puttanesca, which he’s picky about (Italian grandma standards, you know?). He lit up after the first bite—this was the one. Just needed a touch more chili flake heat, but that’s personal preference of his.
I debated trying the Branzino, but since it’s served bone-in, I decided to keep it simple on my first visit and went with the Ravioli alla Aragosta—lobster-stuffed ravioli in a saffron cream sauce. Heaven. Absolute heaven. The sauce was velvety, rich, and completely addictive. I was dipping everything in it. We originally planned to share bites, but once we each tasted our dishes, we silently agreed: nope. Every forkful was our own.
As much as the tiramisu and cannoli called to us, we were stuffed and headed to a show, so we had to skip dessert this round. Next time, dessert is happening—no question.
We wrapped the evening by thanking Cynthia, who truly made the experience even better. She paced everything perfectly, checked in without hovering, and made sure our little two-top never felt overcrowded (which can happen fast with wine, water, bread, and large entrée plates—plus, let’s be honest, your phone for pics!).
We’re so happy this place is now part of the neighborhood. Delicious, charming, well-priced, and run by a team that knows what they’re doing. One of the best Italian restaurants in the area—and our new go-to.

Read moreBefore I leave Utah my hubby asked me what u feel like eating , name anything I will take you on a date . So as a woman who is married to an Italian man I have decided I wanna try some real authentic Italian food besides my mother’s in laws food .
Now the dilemma was to find a authentic one, because as we all know when it comes to traditional food from different countries lots of restaurants claims to be authentic but when you eat their food they disappoint you . This time I have an Italian with me so it was much easier to enjoy than worried about if it’s real Italian food .
Very easy to find the restaurant in Salt Lake City (Downtown) , loved the high ceiling & the pictures of famous people in black & white.
If I am not mistaken it was the owner who welcomed us, older gentleman who was very respectful & kind. Customer service was excellent.
Let’s talk about the food now, we ordered Eggplant parmigiana, Ravioli ara aragosta, 2 different flavors of Penna Cotta . I loved the coffee flavor much better than the fruit one actually. They gave us freshly made bread with sauce & it was yummy . I ordered the lobster & it was good . Somehow I expected more out from this dish but my husband actually loved it . So that makes a point that everyone has different choices. I did loved the eggplant parmigiana. I was gonna try their Cappuccino because I never leave an Italian restaurant without trying their Cappuccino. It feels like something is missing but I was actually very full & was getting late, I need to sleep lol..!
We both used the restroom & it was very nice and clean. You can see my pictures that I loved that mirror lol ! Only thing that bugged me was that there was no hook or anything to put my purse in, didn’t like a bit that I had to put my purse on the floor ! I did recommend to the owner & he was very nice and understanding about it . Also said he will make sure they put it there. I love the fact he did not get offended or anything.
So as per as our experience with this amazing restaurant was exceptional, we loved how welcoming they make us feel. Especially the older gentleman who actually came to my husband & ask him how can he make our experience better. Tell you the truth this never happened to us before, ever ! Even tho he didn’t know that my husband is in military he actually went above & beyond for us. I am pretty sure he does this to all his customers because that’s how amazing of a person he is ! I will never forget his hospitality, if I end up moving to Utah this will be one of our...
Read moreAre you ready to taste the best ravioli in Utah? Because we may have just found it.
This gem has only been open for two months and already boasts a 4.9-star rating on google reviews — which tells you everything you need to know about the kind of magic they’re working in that kitchen.
For date night, we each ordered unforgettable, house-made ravioli that left us completely enchanted. Do they have a sorcerer in the kitchen slipping love potions into every bite? We may never know… but we’re not complaining.
✨ The Starters: We began with Bruschetta di Pomodoro — crisp sourdough crostini topped with tomatoes, red onion, and Kalamata olives, drizzled in extra virgin olive oil and fig balsamic vinegar. A vibrant, tangy-sweet bite that made me almost lick the plate clean. The flavors are strong, so if that isn’t your cup’o’tea I suggest the Mozzarella Corrozza.
✨ The Ravioli Magic: • Ravioli ai Porcini e Tartufo — earthy mushroom ravioli crowned with fresh black truffle. If you like mushrooms, don’t think twice. Follow your sweet mushroom dreams 🍄 . • Ravioli alla Aragosta — tender pasta pockets filled with lobster and ricotta, swimming in a creamy golden saffron sauce with that buttery, ocean-kissed richness seafood lovers dream about. Casey declared it “the best ravioli in Utah”—and I’m inclined to agree.
✨ The Risotto Duo: We shared the Risotto Milanese and the Risotto ai Funghi — both flawlessly done, creamy yet al dente, with layers of depth that only an experienced chef can coax out of rice. If I had to pick a favorite, the Milanese wins… but only if someone twists my arm.
✨ Sweet Endings: • Tiramisu — delicate, not overpowered by coffee, and topped with a fresh strawberry that played like a symphony on my taste buds. Possibly the best I’ve had. • Panna Cotta al Frutti di Bosco — silky, light, crowned with blueberries, strawberries, and berry compote. It made me think of the “Pavlova” episode of Bluey — yes, I’d happily wrestle for a bite.
Moral of the story: Get the Lobster Ravioli. Then get anything else that calls to you. Everything we saw on the menu sounded divine, and we’ll be back to continue our ravioli affair soon.
Aie bon appétit mon amour, Casey & Maegan
