BUYERS BEWARE!!!

Where do I even begin! My BF google searched “Louis Vuitton near me” the first option was a locally owned and operated store called The Lady Bag! Being small business owners ourselves, my boyfriend was overly delighted to drive an hour and a half to support this local business. Upon entering the store Anna greeted my bf and he showed her a picture of the bag he was after. From the Louis Vuitton website he showed her the Neverfull in a specific color combination, displayed with the retail price $1320! She said they had exactly that, retrieved the bag, rang him up, boxed and bagged the bag in Louis Vuitton brand box and bag, and sent him on his way with his new bag. (She told my bf she would throw in the organizer, but charged him $40).
Christmas morning I was beyond excited to see my boyfriend had purchased the LV bag that I wanted!! Upon opening the package the first thing I noticed was The Lady Bag sticker stuck to the box! Anyone that knows anything about designer bags knows that it’s a “whole package” kind of purchase. The LV Neverfull is sold with :The bag, the CLUTCH dust bag, the box, the shopping bag, the proof of purchase and the certificate of authentication for $1320 on their website! There was no certification, no tags, NO CLUTCH, no proof of purchase and the box was damaged! Concerned about the missing pieces I called the store and left a message. Two days later I called again after not receiving a call back. The owner of the store, Jeanette, was very aggressive and abrasive letting me know that ALL bags are preowned and she cannot control whether the bags come with the clutch or not. You get what you get. Her repeated argument was “its a 2018”. Indeed the bag is a 2018! The manufacture code indicated SD4168. Meaning manufactured the 46th week of 2018. Fair enough.
My boyfriend and I decided to go into the store and Return the bag, and order from LV directly. We drove an hour and a half, the second time and were treated rudely by Anna. She spoke very loud and aggressive as tho to grab attention of other customers. She rudely explained they have a very strict return policy. In store credit only that is proudly displayed at the bottom of your receipt, and not explained at anytime during the transaction. She reiterated several times that the bag is a 2018! She told us she wasn’t authorized to refund the money but to come back down on the following Monday and talk to the owner, Jeanette.
Monday my boyfriend called. After being told the same thing over and over, arguing she only had a $100 profit on that bag, she refused to refund the bag. INSTEAD, offered to sell the clutch for an additional $250, which she sells for $595 for anyone else! Immediately it made sense. They purchase the bag, resell for FULL RETAIL PRICE, and piece out the bag. Sell the clutch for $595, the bag for $1320 and you instantly have a $595 profit!!!!! A total chop shop!!!!The LV manufacturing code claims to be made the 46th week of 2018. My bf purchased the bag the 50th week of 2018. Our “preowned bag” (preonwed was never NEVER never disclosed to my bf) was manufactured, purchased, resold, purchased by The Lady Bag, and resold to my bf in 4 weeks, missing all of the pieces to the Bag. Get real! Congratulations, The Lady Bag, you’ve really figured out how to turn a major profit. No, I will not come back to your store and purchase the clutch!! I will never spend another dollar there and I’ll NEVER send business your way!

I was hesitant to have it shipped to Texas but Anna suggested they ship it to save me paying tax. I did appreciate that gesture to save money. I was told I would receive a tracking number via email and it will be shipped either UPS or FedEx. I never received my tracking number and it was shipped USPS. Apparently the bag was "delivered" to my home, however I was not there to sign for it as i didn't know it was on the way. As mentioned, i NEVER received tracking information. I reached out on 2/9/19 to their istagram page to get a shipping status and/or tracking information. I saw that they had "seen" my request and never received a reply nor a courtesy phone call to resolve the issue. I waited a few days to see if i would get a reply, still, nothing. I then called the store and got a busy signal and no answer. I reached out on the "contact us" section on their website expressing my frustrations and soon after finally received a reply on Instagram and an email. I have spent hours trying to get my refund for the item i never received. They state they will not refund me until they have possession of the bag. It is obvious i don't have the bag as i tracked it today and it is in fact still sitting at my local post office. They could have easily "RTS" return to sender upon my first request. In an additional email follow up, i was told this "tracking process can take 60-90 days. Today, it took me only a few minutes to track the item. I informed them the bag is located at my local post office. Their reply, please stop by the pick up. That would be the quick thing to do, however i am on a work trip as i am EVERY week and have stressed this to them NUMEROUS times. long story short, 31 days as of today and I still have no bag and no refund. Not to mentioned, the owner of the store or manager has not had the courtesy to call me o apologize, get further details or attempt to try and make this horrible situation right. It is sad that a luxury resale shop such as The Lady Bag has displayed a lack of customer service. This is EXACTLY why i should have trusted my instinct and not purchase from here. Lesson learned for me! It has been a hassle trying to get a refund! I have spent hours dealing with this, filing BBB complaints and credit card disputes, not to mention all the emails back and forth with this business. I have gotten nowhere! Read moreThe only thing this “family business” is selling is deception. Abby completely falsified information on our LV bag that we purchased by saying the bag was no longer manufactured or hand-stitched, which made it more “valuable”.
Excited about our new purchase, we began to research more about the bag. We found that the bag was sold brand new at LV for the same price that The Lady Bag sold it in store. We proceeded to call LV directly to inquire more information about the bag. When we contacted Abby to speak to about the newly found information, she placed her Aunt, Jeanette (owner) on the phone. Jeanette argued that the information that Abby gave was correct because she was informed by someone at Sundance Film Festival (two years ago) about the “uniqueness” of the bag. However, she never had anyone from LV come in to verify the true authenticity of the product or the information that she was given.
During this call, Jeanette agreed to contact LV jointly to confirm and verify that the information that was used to sell the was correct. We were then informed by the Louie Vuitton representative that the bag has remained exactly the same since its debut in 2010. Jeanette did not offer an apology but did allow us to return the bag because of their misrepresentation of the product, which she still argued that there was not. I would not recommend anyone to this store. I cannot believe the lack of integrity from a store that boasts as family owned and operated business.
