If you want an expensive basic coffee come here!!! if not, I have suggestions. Not sure how this coffee shop has 4.5 stars, let me start off by saying I love supporting small businesses. This is one that I regret. Atmosphere wasn't welcoming or warm. Walked in and the girl at the front (blonde curly hair) didn't care to look our way, I stood in the front waiting for her to get done talking, the customer she was talking to smiled over at me, when it FINELY came time for her to take my order, she was not friendly, gave off unpleasant vibes. I asked for an americano, dry. She didn't know what that was and tried to correct me, being condescending. Aren't you a coffee shop and you don't know what a dry americano is??? A regular iced Americano is espresso shots, water and ice. A dry iced Americano is literally espresso shots, no water. I ended up opting for a latte to make it easy for the girl. Her attitude was not it when I would ask what syrups they had and sizes. That interaction made my friend want to go somewhere else for coffee.
Not only is the service poor. $8.75 for a PLAIN & BASIC iced vanilla latte with oat milk is absolutely ridiculous. Don't waste your time and money here. There is NO Wi-Fi or decaf as well, not to mention they adopted a no-tipping policy, which makes sense why a basic latte was almost $9.
The coffee has no taste. it's sour. Where are you sourcing your beans? Because it's disgusting.
Their options are small. Basically only vanilla or chocolate. If your getting something as basic as that, your better off at McDonalds' cafe, because even their "coffee" is better.
If you want to support a local coffee shop, that has good service and menu here are my 3 suggestions: Cafe on 1st Roots Coffee & co Alpha Coffee (2 mins away...
Read morethree pines is my go to spot when i want a coffee experience. i mean, when i want to experience something like tasting the origin characteristics of a single-variety honduras by espresso, or the florals of terroir in a gedeb ethiopia by batch brew.
three pines exclusively brews coffee sourced and roasted by heart roasters. heart roasters specialize in small-lot coffees which have been grown, picked, fermented and washed with great care to preserve the flavors of coffee variety and terroir inherit in the seed. so, if you've ever been curious about how someone could taste the difference between a coffee grown in colombia and one in kenya, add three pines to your rotation.
three pines baristas are passionate about their craft and put a lot of time into tasting each of the offerings, checking the TDS and extraction yield, making adjustments to the brew variables, and tasting again to check the results.
besides offering some of the best coffee in the intermountain west, three pines offers a cute space right downtown on main street, one of the best shaded outdoor patios in the city, a bike rack so you can ride in, pastries by bedlam baking & everett hamby. and hey, they play fun new music as well as the classics!
if there is no street parking available right out front, go around the corner and park in the underground lot for city creek mall on 100 south, it's free for 2 hours and about the same rate as street...
Read moreDecent shop! Good skills in terms of foam and pours from the barista. Great vibes from the music playing and atmosphere. Very much one of those "hipster" coffee shops. Personally the espresso is a bit too acidic for my tastes, but I know these days people like that. All in all, small place that can get crowded easily. I wish the baristas wore masks since the delta variant is still spreading and they see how many people a day in that small space? Price was also pretty high for the amount of coffee you get, which I'm fine seeing in a place downtown thats local, but just something to note. There are no syrups if anyones looking for flavors, they don't even do a mocha. This is definitely the place for espresso lovers looking for a more acidic and sweet taste from the beans. Didnt need sugar in mine. Coffee is akin to what Publik does. I would be interested in seeing more information on the beans used, possibly with an informational paper posted on the walls or glass barrier telling the location or type of bean at least? Would just be nice to know and make waiting time...
