Toasters Deli — Restaurant in Salt Lake City

I have never seen this place full. The food is okay, but not great. Balsamic vinegar is not a substitute for herbs and spices. If they didn't put it on, I guess the food would be pretty bland. I wish the portion size vs cost was more customer friendly. If the ratio was better for the customer, they might have a lot more business. The manager didn't seem to see a problem when the concern was brought to her attention. Don't expect to be full after going there and ordering something. The other employees that work there are the only real high point I see about the place. Other places do it a lot better. There is a tip jar there, though I don't know why. I was not impressed with the whole experience to make a tip seem like a possibility, and I am usually a heavy tipper. I feel that this place is geared towards a very exclusive niche type of people, those people that don't mind paying a little more money, for a little bit...

I was trying to get to Cupla that was shown as one of the top places in DT SLC. I am not from town. The Lyft driver dropped me at the wrong location and I got in. Once in, I asked if Cupla changed names and she said that it was around the corner but convinced me to stay. The cashier was very very nice. I just mentioned to the server if she could make my latte sweeter and she got really rude about it and in front of me walked to behind the counter and complained with the cashier, made faces, rolled eyes. Toaster’s truly deserves 5 stars! From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with exceptional hospitality that made us feel right at home. The order-at-the-counter setup was smooth, and the food was delivered promptly to our table.

We opted for the combo, which is such a steal at $15—it includes a 1/2 sandwich, an 8 oz soup, chips, and a beverage. You can immediately tell that the sandwich was crafted with the freshest veggies, and the tomato basil soup was absolutely one of the best we’ve ever had!
