The corn 🌽 is heavenly. Each bite juicier than the next. I love to get “The Classic”. The first time I tried it, it literally took me back to my childhood - picture it, Matamoros 1985 in el Centro with a street vendor and my older cousin, Laura. She hands me my first Helote covered in butter and mayo with Chile. The heaviness of the stick in my little hands, the embarazo on my face… nostalgia at its best! They open later in the day at the food truck park, El Camino so I get my quick fix after work. The owner is lovely and extra bonus- they have aguas frescas! I usually treat myself and my kids on a Sunday evening.

La Elotera is tucked away at El Camino food truck park & it’s a cute, unique, and tasty presence well known for their pink corn, aka pink elotera. I like to get mine hoodrat style with crushed hot Cheetos. They also serve 3 other kinds of elote and a few different aguas frescas that are definitely worth mentioning. If you follow them on Instagram they’re always posting the best content & when you visit them in person they always serve you with a smile. Try them out and thank me later.

Let me tell you something special about this place.. what I’m trying to say is.. this is one those places where.. you know.. when you’re just in the middle of a thought.. but like… can’t describe everything you’re trying to say.. but then suddenly, you take your first bite, and you know you’ve made the right decision. Also, the owner of the stand let me take her photo! Such a great place to hang out it if you’re visiting San Antonio!

Only fits a few corn In a crockpot Person attending was rude Could have notified customers ahead of time that were in line just for corn she would not have any available until the crockpot was done wasted time waiting in her line just for corn Then she would not take an order and have us come back when they were done because she would be unable to see the previous order. Waited 15 mins got back in line and she ran out of corns with two people in front of us wasted an hour of my life Person working the stand not motivated lacked energy you would get better service off an actual street vendor and better quality food.

RESPONSE TO OWNER FOR EMPLOYEE: I understand you want to protect your employee. I like how you are assuming I am the client she had the bad interaction with. I came with my family and the person she had a "bad interaction with was two people in front of me". It is sad we came to your business for good service as the ratings stated and did not receive it. Regardless, of how your employee was rude to the customer two people in front of us I continued to stay in line in hopes that the employee was just having a bad moment as people go through things daily and we have no idea. Due to the employee having a bad moment if she lied about not having change, not being able to take an order and go back to it, making us go back in line waiting for elotes, being rude when asking for a limeade and responding what size as if any of your signs or online site state sizes asking to see the size differences and being responded to rudely the large is the same as the one I handed the previous customer. Expectation of having the client to have seen the previous order... Absurd. If she did this to multiple clients based off of her interaction with one person she will do it again. We understand we have to wait, we waited an hour and 15 mins. I was very patient. If she wanted to refuse service she could have, the person behind the gal she had the bad interaction with was trying to help them in their order as for whatever reason they were not understanding each other. When that person came up to order her order she very rudely states "your going to order again." Then followed to state she did not have any change then she was out of corn. The employees bad experience was having the client two people in front not understand that she was stating cob and not cup on multiple occasions. That frustrated the employee...... The gal in between helped clarify that and also had the employee be rude to her after that interaction. Please let me know if I missed something. We can play it off as the client was wrong in this case which does happen, or you can have your employee do some self reflection about being more understanding when clients are struggling to understand wether she is saying cob or cup, I can honestly state there was rude lashbacks after she was rude to the people in front by them after the terrible experience with her. At no point in time was I...

I understand days get long working in general, you can get annoyed and probably just frustrated, but when it comes to a business and serving a customer ur mood should be the fakest that you will ever be the nicest, cheerful, most of all helpful, being rude to the customers is just not okay, the woman that attended yesterday 4-23-23 was just rude & not professional! the customer in front of me was a sister of mine, as she was verbalizing her order the employee kept cutting her off and confusing her rudely, when it came to payment the total was 42$ my sister was handing her a 50$ told her she did not have change when a couple of people before us payed with cash.. hard to believe. So then my sister turned to me asked if I had change i told her no & i just used my card to pay her order, then when she asked for a lid the employee stated she had no lids, but a customer that was attended thru a back window “while she was not done assisting us”did receive lids, that’s when we noticed she had a problem just with my sister” I was really surprised how contained and respectful my sister was after all of that. That was a audience perspective; 35 minutes in my personal experience was when the employee stood on the opposite window from where she was taking orders, i looked over and asked her if that’s where she’s taking the order, employee replied with a nasty tone “your going to order again” when all I had done was insert my card to pay my sisters order. Employee came to the window stated she had no corn left, would have to wait 15 minutes said that fine can I go head and put my order in, employee said “No; because I will not remember and I have no way of going back to check… employee said she will only take drink orders I turned around, asked who was only in line for drinks 2-3 people raised their hand and let them go in front of me.. I stood back to wait patiently going on an hour wait saw how the woman’s mood changed, thought in my mind was it even worth the wait? After the rudeness, lack of energy and sense of humor from the employee who had her favorite customers obviously, was sad and disappointed because the only reason I went their was to get an “elote” if the rate could be zero I definitely would! The service you receive, should be as good as what you are...

I bought a watermelon Agua Fresca … it tasted horrible like 12 oz of water and a small piece of watermelon mixed (super watered down and no flavor ) . I had went to go ask them if I could switch it out instead the young guy just said why with an attitude . He gave me another one (pina ) which also tasted horrible. I had family with me and they all agreed I spent $8 that was going to waste since I didn’t drink it at all . I decided to give them a second try and get the corn . Very overpriced for the corn . It tasted horrible the texture of it as well. I then asked for more mayo since I thought that would make it better … the young man again rudely says no while another lady said to just give it . Which it’s not coming out of his check why is he acting so stingy if I paid so much for a little bit of corn ? I had been waiting for the weekend to try this place and I was very...
