A SWEET SURPRISE! I was craving a vegan dessert option and I was happy to find Sweet Things on Yelp! It's nestled on the right hand side of the Hilton San Diego Bayfront neighboring the San Diego Convention Center. I saw the wonderful reviews and had to try it. It's absolutely AMAZING! I got the birthday cake fro-yo with yogurt chips, rainbow sprinkles and caramel drizzle as my toppings. OMG it was heaven on earth, the fro-yo was the perfect texture and the guy who added my toppings was very generous! He gave me my money's worth and for that he's my favorite fro-yo employee EVER. Everything was great,
Sweet Things is not self-serve, they covered up the old fro-yo machine stations and now everything is ordered at the register. The staff served the fro-yo quickly and brought it out in a flash. The prices are fair here and you get great portions! Sweet Things also serves Dole Whip and non-vegan fro-yo. I'm definitely going to return so I can try ALL of their flavors! I'm a fan, and you will be too! The ambiance is amazing. There's plenty of seating both in and outside. It was a really mellow environment. If you’re staying at the Hilton this place is literally attached to the hotel, I saw many...
Read morethis place is a beautiful nook that is on the outside ground level of the Bayfront Hilton. we stopped in to try one of their Acai bowls of which there are I believe four different ones to choose from. we chose the mango one. it came with the slightly frozen but delicious Acai on the bottom, then a banana sliced up, chunks of fresh mango and a good amount of shredded coconut on top. it was a perfect dessert after having dinner elsewhere. we decided to sit outside which was rather nice with a handful of chairs and tables surrounded by huge and beautiful plants. the bay only a 1 minute walk away. the inside looked very accommodating with purple sofas that looked very comfortable for a day with not so good weather. today was beautiful, so no inside! the associate that waited on us very polite and professional. thoroughly enjoyed our visit! we...
Read moreI gave it a one star because we did get frozen yogurt, which is what I wanted that evening. It seems that they close down the self-serve, frozen yogurt side, and the person behind the counter had to make our portion. The set up is absolutely terrible. Once you get to the front of the line, they ask what you would like but everything is on display where you’re not able to see it. The concept really doesn’t make sense and makes everything very inconvenient, not efficient. The frozen yogurt was OK but nothing special. The seating area was filled with boxes and supplies. The cleanliness of this location looks very questionable. Sadly I will not return which is too bad because there are not many frozen yogurt places near my home. I was really hoping this place...
