Brant and the Social Tap Catering team were amazing! They catered our wedding at Venue 808 in August 2022 and we cannot say enough good things about the quality of their food and service. When we scheduled our tasting Brant was very helpful in recommending the appetizers and entrees that are most popular and would go over well with our guests. He was also very patient with us as we asked him a ton of questions about the process. He worked with us very closely to craft the perfect food and drink menu and we received several compliments from our guests on how delicious everything was. Our personal favorites were the vegetable spring rolls and the poke cones that were passed around. For our entree we chose the duo plate of short rib and chicken and it was a winner among all our guests. The flavor combination was delicious and we liked the ease of not having to track meal options for 150 people (except for dietary restrictions - which they made super easy as well!).

In addition to the wonderful food service, the bartenders and cocktails were five-stars! Each mixed drink was absolutely delicious and they took the time to make sure every cocktail was crafted perfectly. We’ve been to weddings where the bartenders didn’t know what they were doing and the drinks reflected that, but that was not the case here as each bartender was very knowledgeable about what they were pouring and efficient in serving all our guests. We also added on a specialty bartender for the speakeasy activation and he shared insight about all the different types of tastings he was pouring. The speakeasy experience was both educational and delicious!

We loved everything about our bar and catering. Brant and the entire Social Tap team went above and beyond to make our wedding a special experience for both us...

If you want to catch the Padres and enjoy some good food...don't come here. They didn't put the Padres game on a single TV until we asked (they have, like, 50 TV's and the bar is touching Petco Park). They played the sound for a UFC fight instead of the game (which was only on maybe 8 TV's), but also played the house music super loud. The water glasses (plastic) smelled like chlorine or bleach, couldn't drink it. My can of Athletic NA beer was rank and nasty...probably left sitting in some hot room somewhere, couldn't drink it. The chicken salad was barely edible with a miniscule piece of chicken, raw almond slices, a lump of mushy feta, a few slimy chunks of expired avocado, which I pushed off the plate. My draft Modelo was quaffable (despite the plastic glass). And, the 'best' part? The bill. One plate of tacos (rated 'meh' by my friend, one salad, one can of beer, 3 draft beers...wait for it, $118 including 20% tip. (Scam Alert: Toms' doesn't put prices on their menus...talk about taking advantage of the unsuspecting). But wait, there's more. Don't go when there is a concert in Gallagher Square...all you can hear is the deafening base and drums thundering through the bar and out onto the street. It's all relative, I guess...most of the people there were 20's to 30's and maybe this is their jam? We paid up and went down to Far Corner...they had the game on all TV's, with sound, and happy hour during ALL games: $2 wine, $4 all beers, $6 wells. Wow...just wow. And if you want me to email "Tom" so they can "make it right"....there ain't nothing they can do except refund my $118 or a gift cert...

We had our wedding at Venue 808, so Social Tap Catering was our food vendor. First off, let me say how absolutely amazing they were. Jake, the chef, was absolutely wonderful and was so open to any suggestions we had in terms of what kind of food we wanted. They also opened the restaurant early one day just so they can provide us with a private tasting. 10/10 stars.

Desiree, who is the catering sales and event manager was PHENOMENAL. We probably bugged her with so many questions, and she was always so kind and helped us out whenever we needed. Plus, the sweetheart table and chairs they provided us were so beautiful, so we were definitely thankful.

Finally... our wedding was during an away game, so Social Tap was going to close at 10. However, after asking Desiree if we could do our after party there, she immediately said "yes," and that they'll keep the bar open for us. We definitely did not want to keep the staff up just for us, but she was so kind and insisted.

To the staff that stayed longer to deal with us drunk folks, THANK YOU. You all were amazing, and really made our experience wonderful. Shoutout to Anna and Ryan who helped us out during the wedding too!!

Overall, love this place, the people,...

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ TOMS Watch Bar in San Diego is hands down one of the best sports bars in the city! The food came out hot, fresh, and absolutely delicious exactly what you want when you’re watching a game. Service was quick and fast, and I loved how the servers worked together, helping each other out so nothing was ever missed. Has a patio for furry friends 🥰! They were super accommodating too—when we asked to switch the game on the TV right in front of us, they made it happen immediately. The atmosphere is welcoming, the music is amazing, and you can feel the energy from the whole crowd. This is one of the few sports bars that actually interacts with the fans, which makes the experience even better. It’s directly next to Petco Park, so it’s the perfect spot before or after a Padres game. And if you’re a football fan, Sunday at TOMS is unbeatable the best vibes, wall-to-wall games, and a full A1 drink list that pairs perfectly with the food. If you’re looking for amazing sports bar food, top-notch service, and the ultimate game-day experience, TOMS Watch Bar is the place. Easily one of the best in San Diego!

Fast and friendly service. The charcuterie board was pretty awesome, The chicken tacos however were very disappointing. The chicken was dry and although it said it came within avocado crema, there was MAYBE a dime sized plop on top. At first I thought they forgot it until I spotted it barely there. No salsa... Nothing. Just a tortilla with dry chicken and a plop of avocado cream. I asked for salsa and it made it bearable. The brussel sprouts were very good but some were undercooked. One of my friends got the ahi tacos and they looked decent. My other friend got the South by Southwest salad. It looked pretty average. I'd say from a food perspective we were disappointed considering the reviews were so good. The location of this place is downright Cool, pretty much in the park at Petco Park. Our server was super friendly and fast, there were TV screens everywhere to watch anything you'd like. The bar was big with lots of seating and the interior was open and airy.

I have been to this venue many times. It’s a great spot for viewing sports and the service is friendly and very attentive. Social tap is a hidden gem in the middle of downtown San Diego and is by far the best spaces for viewing games with friends. You can hang at the bar solo or get a group for dining… both the indoor and outdoor spaces are enjoyable to hangout. They are also dog friendly! I’d highly recommend checking out this venue and getting the chicken wings with your friends. The venue is very good for catering to any type of situation regardless of it being a casual drink at the bar, hosting bigger parties, or managing large crowds like after sporting games. The staff does a great job of keeping up with local & all sporting events, they are very good about playing the volume for local sports teams, and they have a great layout with plenty of TVs to view multiple events at once. I prefer their truffle fries and chicken wings. LFG
