Great coffee, solid foods and tons of space to work or hang out. I’ve been to many Capital One Cafés across the country and am always impressed by how tasty the drinks are at these bank-run coffee shops. Verve’s beans are well-roasted and tasty, and they give all the espresso handcrafted beverages a great nutty flavor. The lattes and cappuccinos are all smooth, rich, and not overly milky; there’s also some tasty tea beverages if you prefer something less caffeinated but they’re all quite sweet. The staff is all amazingly efficient and super friendly, especially with how hectic it must be during their free coffee MLB Mondays (which was running over the summer and produced extremely long lines at all the Capital One Cafés). This is one of the larger cafes I’ve seen, with three spacious floors filled with ample seating. The ground level is mostly larger communal tables, but there are small 1/2-person tables on the upper floor and couches on the bottom floor. The space is quiet and peaceful, but there are also a few smaller conference / silent work rooms you can try to get a seat in if you need somewhere even...
Read moreAfter a confusing transaction trying to put money towards my statement balance on one of the location's automated machines, I was in need of help to assure that my $1,000+ deposit had gone through. After reaching out to an, Mason, an employee near the machine, I received not only a great amount of help in trying to resolve the issue but overall the best customer service assistance I have ever received in my entire life. I had had a long, tiring day and was pretty dismayed when I couldn't determine definitively if my deposit had gone through or not. Mason helped to not only reassure me but also went above and beyond to cover all bases just in case the amount for whatever reason would not credit to my account by the next day. This all happened today so I am still not sure how the situation will turn out regarding the actual deposit but I do know that I could not have received any greater customer service than I did today. No matter what the turnout, thank you, Mason, for going so out of your way to help me on what was already a very long and stressful day for me! I can't over-express...
Read moreI've been a CapitalOne customer for years and used to semi-frequent the one in Manhattan when I worked there. I was in San Francisco for an appointment not too far from the cafe, so I thought I'd pop in for 50% off a beverage since I'm a customer. As I'm standing in line, I chat up the manager on site (Daniel) and he informed me it was so busy because of a promo of a free handmade beverage every Monday for the entire MLB season. He gave me the QR code to sign up and I got a free chai latte! Thanks Daniel!
On another note, I wasn't expecting this atmosphere to feel like a co-working space. I saw so many folks set up who hadn't even purchased anything or had brought beverages from other well known chains in. When I found out about the free drink, I called a friend who lives nearby and invited her to come so we could sit and chat before I was due to fly out in a matter of hours but we couldn't find a table and the couch we were sitting on, it seemed us talking was disturbing others despite the name "cafe" so we left.
I guess there are just some things NYC...
