Edit: I went back there a different day. Different guy was there and the experience was completely different. Food is great, atmosphere great probably easily in the top 3 I had in SJ so far. Just got unlucky that one day.
I normally don't ever write reviews but I had such a poor experience that I believe future potential customers should know about. I found the place on google maps, saw it had good reviews, and nice food pictures of the Mac n cheese etc so I decided to go with a friend. We arrive there at 8pm 2 hours before the listed closing time (10pm). No customers were there. There was one employee who was in the truck working. I walk up and wait to see if he would greet to begin taking my order. He keeps working, so I believe he just doesn't notice me (fine). I next try to get his attention by waving to him and calling out "excuse me". Still doesn't even look up or acknowledge. (Mind you I was 2 feet away facing him). Strange. Ok. So I go back to the table and ask my friend (who speaks native Spanish) to ask if the place was closed. He goes up and asks the employee if the business was closed. He finally responds "no" but then proceeds to go back to what he was doing without saying anything else. As customers with the intention to make an order, it was bizarre to me that we handled in such a way. I would have been totally understanding if he was busy had just told us or said anything to help us understand what was happening. Nothing. We were just completely ignored standing there confused. (There was a phone that was ringing that he also ignored as well). We were essentially turned away as customers intending to do business without any explanation. I cannot really say much about the food but I can tell you that at this time of writing that you may not get any food at all. Hopefully this helps the business improve...
Read moreThe food itself is probably good enough but I'll never know. I ordered the meat lover fries for $15. I gave him a $20 and let him keep the change.
I get the fries and there is literally a big salad on top of the fries. And... hardly any meat and probably $1.50 worth of fries. In Canada or USA sorry... when I order for example a meat lovers pizza, it doesn't come with vegetables ANYWHERE NEAR the pizza.
I worked in a food truck for nearly 10 years... my opinion is their menu is way too large and should stick to dishes that move out fast. This place is no doubt slow to put food out thats why they charge $15 for fries... not because the guy there is not working fast because he is but because they just sell everything and for 1 guy the process is far too complex.
And again... meat lovers always in the rest of the world means... No salad. It means meat only only top of whatever it is you ordered. No one in the world puts lettuce on top of fries. You guys must be joking.
I gave the fries back un eaten... not even one bite... told him to keep my $20 didn't ask for a refund because for me it's not worth arguing about after waiting nearly 45 minutes for salad fries I just wanted to eat and immediately moved on to...
Read moreLet me just say this—Chef Bryan is a culinary legend. I’ve had a lot of gyros in my life, but nothing comes close to what I had today. The gyro was packed with flavor, perfectly seasoned, and the meat was tender and juicy. And the fries? Hands down the BEST seasoned fries I’ve ever eaten—crispy, bold, and addictive.
But what truly elevated the entire experience was Chef Bryan himself. His customer service was absolutely outstanding. Friendly, attentive, passionate—you can tell he truly cares about the food and the people he’s serving. Honestly, based on his service alone, Chef Bryan deserves a raise. The food might bring people in, but he’s the reason they’ll keep coming back.
If you haven’t been here yet, you're seriously missing out. Go for the food, stay...
