I recently had the most amazing stay at The Weekender Hotel in Ocean Park, Puerto Rico, and I can't rave enough about this delightful gem! As a female traveler exploring the island solo, I was seeking a place that offered safety, comfort, and a touch of luxury—and The Weekender exceeded all my expectations.
From the moment I arrived, the warm and welcoming staff made me feel right at home. The check-in process was seamless, and they went above and beyond to ensure all my needs were met. They provided fantastic recommendations for local restaurants and hidden spots, which truly enriched my experience.
My room was beautifully designed with a modern Caribbean flair, impeccably clean, and equipped with all the amenities I could ask for. The bed was incredibly comfortable, and the attention to detail in the décor created a relaxing and inviting atmosphere.
One of the highlights of my stay was spending evenings at The Hideout Bar. The ambiance was chic yet cozy, and the bartenders were friendly and skilled, crafting some of the best cocktails I've ever tasted. It was the perfect spot to unwind after a day of exploring.
The hotel's location is superb—just a short stroll to the beautiful Ocean Park Beach. I loved being able to walk to the beach and enjoy the sun and sand whenever I pleased. The neighborhood felt safe and vibrant, with plenty of local boutiques and cafes to discover.
Overall, The Weekender Hotel provided an exceptional experience. The combination of outstanding service, stylish accommodations, and a prime location made my stay truly memorable. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Puerto Rico, especially fellow female travelers looking for a safe and delightful retreat. I can't wait to return on my next trip...
Read moreI waited a while to post my review with hopes the hotel would actually reach out to rectify my initial complaint through air b n b. While my overall experience in San Juan was nice, I would have to give this establishment 1 star for their poor follow up in my concerns. I stayed at the place for a total of 4 nights, and up until my final night all seemed to be well. I decided to move the covers on our bed because I do like my feet confined and as a result, myself and my partner were bitten by bed bugs. I will post pictures for full transparency. We reached out to AIR B N B once we discovered what had actually occurred. I have never been bitten by bed bugs, however, upon arrival to my home, I realized I had several bites in patterns down both of my legs. My partner had bites down their hands and forearms because they wrapped the covers up the next morning as a courtesy for the cleaning staff. To ensure I was not falsely accusing this establishment, I made a follow up appointment with my PCM who confirmed I had in fact been bitten by bed bugs. We reached out to Air b N B who refunded us on $200 of the original $800 that we spent to stay there. We then reached out to the Weekender to tell them directly of the issue in hopes that another patron would not be impacted in the way we did, and we have heard absolutely nothing. This is rather unfortunate. I now have scaring down my legs from where the bites were and even had to be placed on a steroid and antibiotics to ensure I did not get an infection. I do not recommend ANYONE stay at this...
Read moreMy recent stay at The Weekender Hotel was a study in contrasts, offering both moments of exceptional hospitality and areas where improvements could enhance the guest experience.
On the positive side, the hotel excels in creating a sense of escape. The private pools are a true highlight, providing a serene and intimate space that caters to the modern traveler's desire for relaxation and connection. The mixologists demonstrate a flair for crafting memorable drinks, and the communal pool area is visually striking. When the staff is engaged, their local knowledge is invaluable.
However, there are some operational areas that could be refined. Late-night check-in could be smoother; I encountered a situation where front desk staffing was inconsistent. Additionally, the room service process could be more reliable. Finally, while the hotel grounds are beautiful, some of the landscaping presents minor inconveniences for taller guests.
Overall, The Weekender Hotel has a strong foundation with its attractive design and focus on creating an experience. Addressing the inconsistencies in service and late-night staffing, along with some minor facilities tweaks, would elevate it from a promising hotel to a truly outstanding...
