We've been eating at Mo Bettahs since they opened the first location. Kimo and his Brah are humble guys who have done it right! The food is always good and the prices are reasonable. Last night I went into the location in Sandy just above Costco. There wasnt a line! I walked right up and was greeted promptly by a young lady who prepared the first part of my order. She passed the plate off to the next associate who asked what meat I was having? I asked for chicken. He opened the lid to the chicken pan and I noticed it was almost empty. All that was lefl were burnt or chared ends of chicken meat! The young man immediately began placing the burnt ends of chicken into my food container! Stacking them, in an effort to fill my plate! I was surprised and said "come on buddy, can I please get some chicken that's not burnt?"..... "all you have to do is ask!" he snapped back! Like what he was doing was ok! I lt appeared he was annoyed that I had "caught" him! The customer shouldn't have to ask for unburnt food! I understand food waste, but my dog couldn't have chewed thru these pieces of charcoaled chicken! I politely told him, "next time I have lunch with Kimo I'll mention how Krispy the chicken was! His eyes opened wide realizing I know the owner. He promptly apologized, opened a fresh pan with perfectly cooked chicken and filled my plate! He handed the 3 large "to go contsiners off to the cashier. Everything else was perfect! My thought was, how many people get this burnt chicken and dont say anything? They just don't go back! Or, they leave a bad review. The ONLY reason I'm mentioning this is, this isn't the first time it's happened to me! The same thing happened just last week at the Twin Falls, Idaho location! Only that day I wasn't paying attention and realized it after I miles away and couldn't go back! It's happened several times at other locations as well. In an attempt to cut waste and keep food cost down, they end up "shooting themselves in the foot" l! Overall their food is the best! Always consistent from location to location! I highly recommend trying it if you haven't! Just look out for those burnt...
Read moreI’m writing this in complete shock having never been treated so poorly at a restaurant! Pre ordered meals hours in advance for a curb side pick up. Employee brings the food out, because Mo Bettahs has a $$ limit on online orders I had to place two orders, I asked the employee when she brought my food out if it included both orders she said it did ( ordered two 6 person meals and one 4 person meal with extra sauce bottles; needless to say it was not complete. I drive back to get my the same employee asks “what do you need” I tell her I’m back to get the remainder of she told me I already had. She tells me that she was told it was the whole order to which I reply that it was a 4 person meal short. She argues that it’s not her fault and tells me to take my attitude elsewhere she was told it was the whole order! I asked to speak to her manager and she turns and laughs. I ask another employee to get the manager who then brings my food out and tells me she is a district manager and she will “talk” to the employee in question. I leave and get home only to find that “Emily” the supposed district manager gave me the wrong order. Call back to the store to ask for a refund, not going back for a third time. I tell her that I have never been spoken to like that, Emily proceeds to tell me that she trust her employee who is “16 with anxiety and does not talk like that”. Emily proceeds to tell me she knows who she hires and trust her employees and the 5 other supposed employee witnesses to it”. Be aware of the 16 year old Hispanic employee with anxiety who “doesn’t speak” that way. And definitely stay away from District Manager Emily who couldn’t make the order correct and ended up refunding $135 plus for the incompetently of her trustworthy staff! Needless to say we are done...
Read moreI came here once before and ordered the pulehu chicken and really loved it so I decided to come back this evening and when I arrived I was the only person in line and only after I asked for the pulehu chicken did they put it on the grill and tell me it would take a full 15 minutes to make it. Unfortunately, on this evening I didn’t have that luxury. Instead I settled for the other breaded chicken they make it was barely a step above McDonald’s chicken nuggets, seriously! so in short I wasted nine bucks and that’s not all. The service was pretty poor as well...the first person who took my order asked me twice what meats I wanted and then after serving up some macaroni and some rice sent me to the next guy in line and he asked me a third time what meats I wanted only to then tell me they were out. I seriously considered running next door at this point (wish I had) but I gave they other chicken they recommended a try only to find it mostly breading with little pieces of flavorless dry...
