Jazz' Tapas Bar offers an elegant fusion of flavorful tapas, fine wine, and the enchanting sounds of live jazz. However, our experience was a tale of two extremes—one of remarkable hospitality and another of disappointing indifference.

Upon arrival, we were met with an unexpected and frustrating delay despite having a reservation. Victoria, one of the hostesses, demonstrated a concerning lack of professionalism and attentiveness. Rather than ensuring a seamless check-in process, she directed my wife and me to sit and wait without explanation. Meanwhile, we observed at least three other couples—who arrived after us—being seated promptly. After 15 to 20 minutes of being disregarded, it became evident that Victoria was either uninterested in or incapable of managing guest accommodations effectively. Her dismissive attitude set a disappointing tone for the start of our evening.

Thankfully, our experience took a dramatic turn for the better when Daysha, another hostess, stepped in. Unlike Victoria, Daysha exhibited a keen awareness of our situation and an unwavering commitment to exceptional service. The moment we voiced our concern, she took it upon herself to rectify the issue with efficiency and grace. Not only did she secure us a table quickly, but she also went above and beyond by seating us near the live jazz band, enriching our overall dining experience. Her professionalism, urgency, and customer-first approach showcased the level of service expected at a high-quality establishment.

Further elevating our experience was Doug, our server, whose service was nothing short of outstanding. From the moment he greeted us, it was evident that he was both knowledgeable and passionate about the menu. Every tapas and wine recommendation he provided was flawless, reflecting his deep understanding of both flavor pairings and guest preferences. Doug’s attentiveness, warm demeanor, and impeccable service left a lasting impression and reinforced why exceptional staff are the backbone of a great dining experience.

Despite the unfortunate lapse in hospitality from Victoria, Jazz' Tapas Bar ultimately redeemed itself through the extraordinary efforts of Daysha and Doug. Their dedication turned what could have been a disappointing evening into a delightful and memorable experience. The restaurant would benefit greatly from ensuring that all staff members uphold the same high standards of service that Daysha and Doug so effortlessly...

After a late lunch, we were looking for a spot to get small portions or just appetizers for dinner. Found this gem online and I’m glad I did! This restaurant is underground and has a really fun atmosphere! The name is very fitting for the vibe I got in the restaurant. We came a little earlier so we missed the live music. But still had a great time!

Our waitress was so kind and helpful. She gladly took a picture of us and was very knowledgeable about the menu. She warned us about which dishes were smaller and what dishes people favored. She also gave us information about what tapas are!

We ended up getting 4 tapas, all fish ones. The food came out really fast too. First we tried the grilled salmon, we split it among the 3 of us. It came with a Dijon dressing and broccolini. Salmon had AMAZING flavor and the sauce complimented it very nicely. Then we tried the flash fried calamari. I was a little skeptical about trying this, because I do not like heavily breaded, greasy calamari. But WOW, they cooked the squid perfectly, wasn’t too chewy at all. It was lightly fried and was flash fried in a white wine sauce, which gave it so much flavor. It also came with peppers and onions as well as banana peppers. Calamari was perfect, recommend trying that one, also a little bigger than the other tapas. Next we tried the tuna tartare with wonton chips. Never had tuna tartare, but after trying this…it is definitely something I want in the future. The wonton chips complimented the tuna perfectly. The tuna was amazing. Finally we got one of the specials, shrimp ceviche. Also never had this. They put poblano peppers and cilantro on theirs, and it worked so well! Super yummy, shrimp tasted great!

Definitely recommend coming here with friends, or family, and trying all kinds of different things. Loved the restaurant and the vibe. Had...

First off, let me say the food is wonderful. Absolutely delicious. Our experience was a different story. We wanted to do dinner and then listen to live music. To be proactive, We stopped in around 4:45 to ask when would be the best time so that we can do both. The lady, who ended up being our server, said not to wait too long as it gets crowded quickly. We ended up coming back at 5. We were asked by the folks seating us if we were here for music as well and then were seated in a great spot. The gentleman seating us even said ‘it won’t be too loud at this table’. Our sever was great at the beginning. She suggested the tapas for two and said, you’ll be here for a while so you can take your time and eat since the live music didn’t start until 7:30, we thought it was a perfect idea. Our server said she would space out the food so we can really enjoy it and keep enjoying the food during the show. The first and second course were perfectly timed. Then while in the middle of eating our second course, our third comes out. No biggie. Around 6:30pm, she says ‘there is a two hour table turn around so you’ll have to finish and move for the music.’ She stated there were couches available to sit at near the back of the bar. Everything that came out of her mouth was misleading. We weren’t going to be able to enjoy the meal. At that point we were looking around and there were no bar tables close to the music. We decided to leave so that we would be able to get in elsewhere in time for live music and asked for the check. The server then had an attitude about us not...

What a cool place! The food and drinks were AMAZING!!!! The service was also excellent! We got there just in time to get a drink at the bar for happy hour. $3 drink! Then we sat down and ordered poutine- creamy and flavorful. Great portion to share with 4! We ordered the 5 onion soup- so delicious and comforting! The grilled sirloin- cooked to perfection! The fried calamari- came with a delicious tomato sauce! The bread and cheese platter- served with a whole head of carmelized roasted garlic and grapes- out of this world DELICIOUS!! The ribs were falling off the bone tender and the sauce was sweet and just perfect. I got the Apple martini and a watermelon one! They taste like jolly ranchers! My sister got the almond joy drink with shaved coconut on top and it was so so good! The live music and atmosphere was so cool and the servers were wonderful. They brought out our food a little at a time so we could enjoy it like a 4 course meal! To end it we ordered crème brûlée and it was also just perfect! Would recommend for a small group of your best friends or family to come hang out. We are definitely coming back! High quality food and great prices!!

Great spot! The bar is in a basement. There is street parking around, but I wouldn't bet on it. The drinks were good and the food was delicious. They have American tapas. I'd say the servings are also American sized since traditional tapas are very small plates. My mom had the lettuce wraps and really liked them. I had the fish and chips. It was the perfect size and yummy. My fish and chips came with 2 perfectly battered and fried flaky fish as well as thick cut, but still crispy, french fries. The environment was clean but dark. They had live music. It was some twangy country music. The guy didn't take song requests, so that was a letdown. We sat at the bar. The bartender was very welcoming and friendly. He explained things and was able to make recommendations. However, he was not very attentive or quick to serve. He seemed busy even though the bar wasn't overly full. I'm guessing the bartender makes drinks for tables as well, so he could have been trying to keep up with that. Otherwise, the experience was good. I'd come back and recommend it to others.
