After seeing the high star reviews, this wasnât quite what weâd expected. I want to say at onset that my 3 star service review was because of the inefficiency of the service, not the friendliness of the staff. Staff members were kind and friendly. But they were functioning in a less than ideal setup.
The line out the door is deceiving. Thereâs only one person taking orders at a time, which wasnât terribly efficient. There were two staff members with screens in front of them but one was to order and one was to pay. The long line created crowd problems as people had to shift to allow other patrons to exit or to allow waitstaff through.
Seating is first come, first serve AFTER you place your order, so itâs a little stressful, imagining you may be standing around with your tray of food and no place to sit. Stalking other people while they eat to see who looks like theyâll be finishing soon, and worrying about the people in front of you nabbing the table firstâŠnot my personal favorite. Glad we werenât there with our kids.
My husbandâs food came out and we sat for a full five minutes before mine came out. After a couple minutes, I insisted he start eating so his food didnât get cold.
The coffee was just okay, unfortunately. Our side of potatoes had a nice flavor but didnât have that great textural crisp to them, and the portion was small considering it was a side we had to pay extra for.
My husband got the burrito, which clearly had to be eaten with fork and knife since itâs covered in salsa, but the plate was so small, it was awkward to cut into it without food falling off the plate. He asked for a larger plate, but they didnât have any. His burrito was decent, but lacked a cohesive element tying the flavors together.
My panini was yum. I really liked the balsamic which was soaked up into the top piece of bread. Perfect amount. Was pleasantly surprised at how well the salami worked with it too.
Iâm rooting for you all, and hope these impressions from average patrons...

My wife and I recently visited Savannah, GA, and on our third day, we decided to try Goose Feathers Café & Bakery for breakfast. After searching through many places, we chose this restaurant because of its charming outdoor seating and numerous awards for the best pastries in Savannah.
Upon entering, we were warmly greeted by four friendly staff members at the counter. The process was smooth and welcoming: you grab a menu from a stand outside and take your time to review the extensive offerings. Goose Feathers Café serves breakfast and lunch all day, allowing you to satisfy any craving at any time.
Inside, you approach the cashier counters on the right-hand side to place your order. The selection of baked goods on display is enticing and adds to the anticipation of the meal. My wife and I ordered the Breakfast Panini and the original breakfast on a croissant. The breakfast was delightfulâthe eggs combined with cheese were fantastic. While the sausage was slightly dry, the homemade bread and croissant were exceptional, clearly made with great care and expertise.
My wife thoroughly enjoyed the Panini, likening it to an exclusive version of a fresh baked sandwich we love back home in Charlotte, NC.
The overall experience was so delightful that we are already looking forward to visiting again on our next trip to Savannah. I highly recommend Goose Feathers Café & Bakery to anyone visiting the area. A special shout-out to the cinnamon rolls, which came highly recommended by the staff. The chocolate croissants and cheese and apple danishes also looked very tempting and are next on our list to try.
This café is a true gem in Savannah, offering a fantastic blend of friendly service, delicious food, and a cozy atmosphere. Don't miss out on this...
Read moreDropped in to grab breakfast on our way out of town this morning. Goose Feathers was recommended to us so we decided to give it a try. The line wasnât too long for a Sunday morning breakfast at 10:00. We ordered the Birds Nest with a side of grits and sausage and a Belgian Waffle with a side of bacon. The menu doesnât specify that the Birds Nest has grits on the bottom thatâs why we ordered the side. It was filling unfortunately it didnât have a lot of flavor. The dollop of salsa on top had the most flavor of the entire dish. The grits looked fantastic but upon tasting them they were not hot. Warm would be a massive stretch. The waffle was ok. It didnât have much flavor. It would be perfect for kids. The side of bacon was the biggest disappointment of the meal. It must have been cooked in an air fryer because it was so hard and dehydrated I nearly broke a tooth. Great flavor just inedible. The black coffee was surprisingly good and hot. My husband ordered a caramel latte but it tasted like they forgot the caramel. The last thing worth mentioning is the vibe, the atmosphere of the place. If you are looking to have a conversation over a cup of coffee or a last meal with locals before leaving town this is NOT the place for that. They really start pushing you out as soon as your last bite is finished. I had no sooner put my fork down that the plates were being taken. Goose Feathers is family owned and operated since the â80âs. Maybe we ordered the wrong meals or maybe it was an off day because the line was out the door and down...
