When I think of Barrel House during the day, I think of the perfect place to grab a cold beer and just be. There’s great conversation to be had with the bartenders who are always accommodating and welcoming. Whether there’s rain or shine, it’s a chill environment to hang out with friends, colleges, and coworkers. It’s even a fantastic spot for a date night. At night, there’s always live music of some sort or a DJ. When it’s busy, it’s very fast paced but when you look around you can just see and feel everyone having a great time. Even when it’s a packed house, the wait time for a drink or a round of shots is still slim to none. If you decide that the live music and crowd is a little too overwhelming, there’s a downstairs level to escape to where there’s just as much fun to be had. This specific level of the bar opens at 8pm and has three pool tables. All around, this is an awesome place to experience. There’s a kitchen that’s always open with the best fries and specialty sauce you’ll ever have, an amazing draft and cocktail list, and the happy hour special...
Read moreBarrelhouse is by far my favorite bar in downtown Savannah. They not only have music everyday of the week, they bring in some amazing big name bands. I was lucky enough to catch both Tauk and Perpetual Groove this year and both bands put on an amazing show. The atmosphere at Barrelhouse is so welcoming, the staff is so friendly and take the time to get to know their guests. It’s the perfect place to hang out with friends and family, especially with the upstairs and downstairs to accommodate different clientele. If you want to get away from the noise and excitement upstairs, downstairs has a full bar, pool tables, shuffleboard as well as a hunting game. The vibe downstairs is more laid back and is where more of the locals go to hang out. One other great thing about Barrelhouse is the fact that it has a kitchen and that kitchen stay open super late. So if you get hungry at 2AM, you can still order some amazing food. I recommend the Mac and Cheese balls!! So if you are looking for a fun and entertaining time in downtown Savannah, Barrelhouse is the...
Read moreI have always enjoyed this bar, recommended it to friends and I bring people here all the time usually for the live music, the choice of having an upstairs and a downstairs with pool and ski-ball, the environment is usually pretty good and the employees are generally quick and friendly, however my last time going there I had a decent time 2 of my friends were down for the weekend and I brought them to this bar, we had some drinks upstairs and the bartender was amazing and then went downstairs to play pool while downstairs I ordered a single beer, and was told that there is a two drink minimum, so I ordered 2 beers for 4 dollars each, I wake up the next morning and there was an attempted charge of 16.96 on my card, which I didn’t have, and then later another charge for 13.00 which did come out of my account. I hate being overcharged and taken advantage of with money, I don’t hate the bar for it, but the male employee that works downstairs with long hair, and a backwards baseball cap and tattoos will probably try to take advantage of you if you...
