The happy hour that did no happen To be fair, we have not been out downtown or at the waterfront in a long time. On a very rainy afternoon with nothing better to do it was decided that we were in a need of a happy hour 😊. We longed for the cool place on the waterfront at Anthony's. On their website, happy hour was posted from 5pm to 8:30 pm. Into the car we tracked 35 miles though traffic, rain and construction. Found an awesome parking spot, fought the parking meter and won,and happily arrived at Anthony's at pier 66. Entering the place it became clear that there was something off. Instead of a cheerful hostess it was a deary dark place roaped off bar an no soul around. Hearing voices upstairs we climbed the stairs to find 3 stugets aka stewards that looked at us big eyed ( I am only used to get these looks early in the morning) and wondered what we wanted. When we said the we there for happy hour we were informed that we must have looked at an old website. Well no-one send me that damm memo. When you have several website floating around there at least have the courtesy and coordinate them. They said we can have a surf and turf dinner, but so half hearted that we did not even considered it. So we went home very disappointed, though dark,rainy...

I was completely shocked by the absolute lack of customer service my husband and I received at Anthony's. It was Saturday night and the restaurant closed at 9. Granted, we dos go in at 8:50, but its a pricey restaurant, a little more on the upscale side. First it took over 5 minutes for anyone to even acknowledge our presence. When they did, we were told they were full but we could go to the bar. So we did. To say the bartender gave us the cold shoulder is putting it nicely. She never said hellp, smiled, nothing. Asked if we were eating or just drinking and we said we were eating. Its not as if she couldnt smile either. She smiled and joked with her coworkers just fine. Anyway, I ordered a pineapple mojito-it sounded delicious. Worst drink I've ever had. I mean that too. I literally couldnt even force it down. She never said a word about it either. The food was "eh". My steak was ok. The potatoes were room temperature-yuck. Not hot at all. We spent about $300 on food. That bartender could have made a nice fat tip if she hadnt been so nasty. I think my husband left $4. Ive been a server and Im all about leaving a healthy tip if its deserved. You are not entitled to a tip. I will...

I went 2 weeks before this visit and the food, service, view was amazing. I brought my family back for this visit and the manager was our server. She would not respond when we spoke to her. We asked for a water without ice. She rolled her eyes. She brought it back with a really weird smile and wouldn't look at us. She didn't say anything when I said thank you , just kept the weird, fake smile while not looking at us. Then she dumped a tray of ice all over the ground. I looked at my water and there was a ring of bubbles around the water line that didn't move with the water. It sort of stuck to the glass walls. It was either spit or it was put in the soap without rinse. I got a huge feeling that she would be messing with the food so we left. It was a bummer bc I told my family how great it was our first visit. I really think the health department should do some more inspections bc the manager 100% did something to my water. I don't know why she was so weird and rude as soon as we sat down. Anyways, if you go, definitely make sure not to let the mananger...

Anthony’s Pier 66 boasts a prime location right on the waterfront where ships dock, offering picturesque views that are truly a highlight of dining here. However, my experience suggested that the restaurant perhaps leverages its exceptional location to justify higher prices that may not align with the quality of food and service provided. The food was acceptable but did not live up to the high expectations one might have for a restaurant in such a notable setting, and certainly did not reflect the gourmet pricing. Similarly, the service was adequate but lacked the special touch that would make the dining experience feel premium. While the views of the bustling port and arriving ships add a unique backdrop, the overall impression I left with was that Anthony’s Pier 66 is more of an average dining establishment with prices that suggest a higher-end experience. Diners should be prepared to pay for the view and location rather than the culinary offerings or service.
