I ordered the vegetarian biscuit and gravy with cheesy garlic grits, and I was disappointed. When the server handed me the bag, the grits were already leaking, which unfortunately foreshadowed the state of the food inside. The biscuit and gravy were extremely soggy, to the point of being unappetizing. This aligns with research suggesting that deviations from expected food textures, like excessive sogginess, can significantly impact enjoyment and even trigger disgust in some individuals (Wilkinson et al., 2018).
The leaking grits also raise concerns about the adequacy of the packaging. As Marsh and Bugusu (2007) highlight in their research, proper food packaging is crucial for preserving quality and ensuring food safety.
I was in a rush to work, so I didn't have time to address the issue with the staff. However, studies on customer service recovery emphasize the importance of addressing complaints effectively to mitigate negative experiences and foster customer loyalty (Lemon & Verhoef, 2016).
It's a shame because the menu at Biscuit B** sounded incredibly promising, creating a positive initial impression. Unfortunately, the actual experience failed to live up to expectations. This disconnect highlights the 'halo effect,' where first impressions can heavily influence our overall judgment (Nisbett & Wilson, 1977).
With so many other brunch options in Seattle, I'd recommend exploring alternatives until Biscuit B** addresses these concerns.

Read moreI was excited to try this place. The quirky branding, good reviews and location in the same building as our hotel all pointed to the perfect spot for breakfast before sightseeing at the Seattle Centre. WRONG! We didn't know about the online ordering so just popped over to order. The "waitress" seemed very nice and told us to order online and the wait was 45 minutes. There are a few little tables on the sidewalk, we decided we had enough time, sat down and ordered online. The tables are literally right next to the road and big busses were constantly going by, loudly. Plus there were lots of homeless pot smokers loitering around smelling of urine. Not a palatable place to wait much less eat! Just as we finished ordering the "waitress" shouted out that everyone sitting here now will get their food in 45 minutes as she changed the "Wait Time" sign to 1 hour. Some friends of ours arrived as she was shouting and we told them the process of ordering and that now the time would be around an hour. They did not have plans to do anything till later so they ordered and went back in the hotel to wait. 1 hour and 15 minutes after we had ordered we tried to cancel and get a refund because we didn't want to miss our scheduled time slot at the Space Needle, she yelled at us that their policy is no refunds and the "wait time" is general not specific. We left with out food or a refund. Talked to our friends later that night and found out they waited almost 2 hours for their food which was cold and "not that good". I'll...
Read moreVisit started off on a high note. We were excited about the menu items and quite hungry. The COVID experience has the now typical QR code menu and order online option. We followed instructions and were quoted 30 minutes. We then waited in the cold rain for well past that time before approaching to find out when our orders might be ready. It became clear quite quickly that the guy at the window with one AirPod in his ear delivering rude responses to anyone inquiring about their orders would be less than helpful. The place was obviously overwhelmed and that could have easily been forgiven but the guy at the window really crushed any good vibes we could have left with. Between being unbelievably rude about canceling our orders that were over an hour late and blatantly ignoring any of our questions as he refunded us, I do not recommend you go here. Maybe try the other location or a day where they have more pleasant staff? I recognize it was a rough day on this team but leading with the attitude we all received was certainly not the...
