FOB Poke Bar — Restaurant in Seattle

Love love love this place. Tired it on recommendation from a friend and it did not disappoint. Usually I'm feel super uneasy about ordering from a menu where you make your own bowl because I can't be sure what I concoct would taste good. But have no fear I basically put everything in my bowl and it still tasted amazing.

I ordered the large bowl so I could fit more stuff in. It comes with three proteins and I had Salmon, ahi tuna and octopus with half and half and all the toppings except avacado and jalopenos. I seriously love everything. Tasted fresh and was super filling. I really liked the octopus. My husband had the same thing except he had scallops and less toppings. He said he would not get the scallops again though. Overall food is really great I would eat there often if lived around there.

The staff were friendly but you can definitely tell that the two people putting the toppings on varied in the amount of stuff they put on ur bowl. One of them is way stingy because I ordered almost every topping and still had less of a pile than my husband's who choose less items and he only had one type of crab meat. You can tell by the lack of furikake (seaweed seasoning) on my bowl compared to his. The girl turned the shaker over and that was it for mine. Lack of consistentcy is my only gripe.

Something interesting and silly is that they have four different type of toilet papers in the washroom. For whichever kind you prefer or want to compare I guess.

They serve fruit infused water which was a nice touch. Overall good experience. Would definitely come again. Hopefully next time I get the more generous...

Small location. It was packed, probably why it didn't look very nice. I liked that they had multiple menus from the door to the line because it was my first time and I did not know the options. Once I got to the line it was chaos. My friend went first, she's expirenced in ordering poke bowls, so I tried to follow her lead. She even said she was confused but made sure she got everything she wanted. Everybody was talking at once and there was no order to how they were putting in the bowl. I think they had to many workers on the line at once. I mean I got everything I wanted but I was flustered. I also wish I knew the eel was extra, like its not a 2 dollar upcharge as one of the meats. So I picked a large thinking I need to add 3 meats 2×salmon and eel for two dollars extra. But they said I had to pick three meats so I got 2×salmon +octopus and the extra eel. I like meat but it was a little much. The customer service was sad. Since it was my first time I just put stuff that sounded good in my bowl. Even if I didnt know what it tasted like. Everything tasted good to me. A large was more than enough to share. My dad got a whole half of my large (3meat unless you want to add the eel than 4) he will eat anything. And he grew up on seafood and didnt have anything bad to say. I'd go back. Maybe during a slower time to reevaluate the cleanliness and customer service. If you dont care about that. Go eat...

Base has a very great selection, white rice, brown rice, 1/2 & 1/2, spring mix, kale or spinach. There are 4 kinds sauce to mix with the base, 2 of them are gluten-free options. I picked the Orange Miso, citrusy and savory, goes well with the spring mix~

Regular size has 2 scoops of protein Large size has 3 scoops A couple sauces to choose from, and I had the Zesty Mango ahi tuna and scallops. Oh yeah, they have scallops! And seared ahi tuna, octopus, shrimp, regular tuna and salmon. Love their variety of proteins!

As for toppings, tamago, edamame, toasted corn, zesty mango salsa, invitation crabmeat, spicy invitation crabmeat, and more!

The staff are very friendly and always ask if it’s enough and happy to scoop more, well, other than protein. Hahaa...

Our second visit was during the day, so we got to sit down. Other than great choices of drinks, they even have Hawaiian Sun drinks from Hawaii! Awesome another cool thing is, instead of a instant coffee machine, they have an instant miso soup machine! Hot and soupy is warming!!
