This was my second visit at this Applebee's. The food was very good and we had a very nice waitress. She made us feel welcomed and asked us a few times how our food was and if we needed anything. It wasn't until the end of our meal when I finally decided to mention to our waitress our issue we had with our previous visit and concerns with our current visit as well. I went there on Sunday August 15th for vacation and we spent quite some money on our meals and drinks for four people. Our second visit we went, it was just me and my husband which was on the 20th of August. I noticed right away when I ordered my frozen margarita that it was very different. The size was way different (much larger in size), the way they dressed the drink was different (salt around the rim, lime on the side), and the price was a little bit different. I am not one to complain when it comes to restaurants, but I had to say something to my friendly waitress. The first frozen margarita was in a small, slim glass. This second time ever ordering this drink, it came in a huge globe style glass with salt around the rim and a lime. When I asked to speak to the manager, he went back and tried a "test". He measured different glasses with water and came back asking what glass I received from my first visit. None of the glasses were the same I told him. He thought possibly it was the same amount of drink but came in a different glass. That was not the case. He then said, oh you got a better deal today. He even brought over the bar tender to help explain what might of happened but then they both agreed I got the wrong glass (less amount) for the same price as the normal sized frozen margarita. I simply wanted to bring it to their attention. But they ignored the fact that I got less of a drink on my first visit for the $7 dollar price. My waitress said he probably will fix the issue or just give me a drink to go for free fo the mishap. Nothing like that happened and he said have a good day. I wasn't looking for money back or trying to be "that customer" to get my check paid for or anything like that, but it was not a good experience. Knowing I got less on my first visit. Me and my husband just walked out. Very disappointed in the result of talking to the manager and how he handled the situation. Our food was very good, and our waitress was super kind. For how much money we spend going out to eat, we thought this place would have been a good idea. It was embarrassing trying to explain to the manager that I got ripped off on my first visit. Very embarrassing having him come over with 3 different size glasses filled with water, embarrassing having the bar tender who wasn't working that shift prior come out to talk with him.
Tried to give it Applebee's another try on August 28th. I order a frozen strawberry margarita and my food was given before the drink was even served. I was drinking what I thought was a strawberry margarita, but the color was very light pink, so I didn't think anything was wrong, just maybe less strawberry in it. Come to find out when I got my bill, I was given a flamingo crush drink. What a disappointment...
Read moreThe food here is very good! I ordered the Whisky Bacon Burger and my partner ordered the 6oz Top Sirloin.
Initially, when my burger arrived, it came with a giant piece of lettuce on the bottom, which is not like the picture at all, but I didn't let it put me off. Sure enough, the burger was delicious, really juicy, tasty, crispy pieces of onion and delicious bacon and a sweet sauce, but it also got very soggy quickly. The fries were well seasoned, but a little too salty for my tastes.
My partner's Top Sirloin was divine. When I tried a bite, I was so impressed with the flavours and the texture. The broccoli on the side was also great tasting, well seasoned!
We also ordered Crispy Onion Rings as an appetizer and I got a Long Island Iced Tea to drink.
The onion rings were good, but no flavour on the rings themselves and they relied too heavily on the BBQ sauce on the side to add taste. I personally also would've preferred a variety of sauce options, like a spicy mayo, for example.
The Long Island was nothing to write home about. It was fine, but not good. In contrast with the food, the drink was definitely disappointing.
The only thing that was kind of interesting, veering on bizarre, is that they were doing job interviews in the main dining hall. I thought that was a bit weird, how some of the people waiting for interviews would just be staring at you while you're trying to enjoy your lunch. At the very least, they could be doing the interviews in a more secluded part of the restaurant, but they were in the middle.
Still, the most important part, the food, was very good so I would highly recommend this restaurant! The wait staff were also...
Read moreI had never been to an Applebee's before but I was pleasantly surprised. Though some work could be done to make the experience a little better.
Service was a bit slow to start. There was a tablet on the table and it wasn't clear if we were supposed to use that or wait for our waitress? We were seated with menus but still.. after fiddling around with the tablet and seeing that there aren't any main courses...still left us with questions but it clarified that we need our waitress to order.
She arrived seemingly overwhelmed but still smiling 😊 she was nice and fun even after coming out of the dinner rush.
We ordered drinks and we all ordered a bacon cheeseburger with a smoked bourbon sauce I think. We had also ordered an entree that we never received ( and at least wasn't billed for it so probably didn't catch it or forgot about it while we were asking questions about specials).
The wait was a tad long. Starting noticing how having windows looking into the mall around half the restaurant was a bit much. I think our plates were ready for a bit before they were brought out because it should've been much warmer... But I was hungry and regardless... It was the best burger I had in a long time. Mouthwatering tasty. That cook 🤌🏽yes!!!
The place could be updated but the food was really good. I'd go...
