We want to add to the many many excellent reviews of this fantastic West Asian restaurant in Burlington! My wife and I were driving back home to Western MA from Montreal, famished, and reeling with shock, sadness and grief upon learning of a close friend’s severe heart attack earlier in the day. We needed delicious fresh comfort food! My wife searched restaurants in Burlington on Google Maps and the first one that came up was Zaytoona! And all the good ratings! Yes! So we headed there for a late lunch. We were warmly welcomed by the proprietor and took our seats in a comfortable friendly space. As we ordered she told us how much she enjoyed being there and seeing and talking with people coming in from the community.
We ordered the Sharing Mazze platter, with Zaytoona’s delicious hummus, baba ganoush, lebneh (a thick creamy spreadable cheese made from yogurt), and muhammarah (a delicious red bell pepper dip) served with fresh (fresh!) pita, and the lovely Rocco Salad - arugula, tomatoes, cucumbers, with a fabulous lemony dressing.
So delicious! Exactly the comfort our bellies and our broken hearts needed, and created and served with love and kindness. We will definitely stop at Zaytoona on our future travels. Truly, “Taste the Heart of the Middle East with...

Where to start? We happened across Zaytoona almost by accident. We were here from out of state and had to leave our car at the mechanic for a few days for an emergency issue...
So we needed a place close enough that we could walk from our hotel (Green Mountain Suites).
Boy, are we glad we found Zaytoona!
The food is so incredibly flavorful and fresh. It's almost unbelievable this day in age where most produce has no flavor.... but the tabuli salad was so incredibly flavorful.
We also got the Baba Ganoush and couldn't get enough of it. Order extra pita, you're going to need it!
The Chicken Shish Tawook was grilled perfection... Especially the vegetables which had multiple layers of flavor.
Truly an experience! We wish we lived closer. It would be worth the drive even if we were not close by.
I wish I had pictures to share, but as soon as we dug in, all the food was gone! It was THAT delicious!
HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!
P.S. make sure you get the meal with fries, because I don't know how they do it, but their fries stay crisp and fresh even an hour after we picked...
