I love this store for so many reasons!! Bottom line, in my opinion, they are practicing what I think every store should be striving for - QUALITY, HEALTHY, AFFORDABLE products, paired with the most stellar customer service, resulting in the highest level of customer satisfaction attainable! 😁 😍🙏
I would say I've rarely been disappointed with a purchase. Furthermore, IF I have ever been dissatisfied with an item that was subpar, such as nuts or produce that prematurely spoiled, or I simply didn't like an item, they've taken it back WITHOUT question/hesitation EVERY TIME! (I tried returning an unopened bag of Onion Chips at the neighboring health food store, because I found the EXACT same product, at Trader Joe's for $2.50 less per bag. Even though I had the receipt, and had bought them 30mins prior, they absolutely REFUSED to take them back, because they weren't defective 🙄 Not to be dramatic, but seriously?! At that cost point, you're gonna be that stingy with your customers?! 🤯) Their overall price point is significantly more affordable than similar places locally, such as Healthy Living, City Market, Hannaford's, and Shaw's. Being someone with dietary restrictions (basically a Keto diet), they are my first go to for the most affordable options, that also meet my dietary requirements. When having dietary restrictions, I most often find it to be an excuse for places to jack the prices on things that are listed specifically as GF/Organic/Keto/Paleo/etc (this is especially true of their direct rivals such as Healthy Living and City Market). Trader Joe's will ALWAYS be my first pick, because not only do they have many GF/Organic/Keto/Paleo/overall ALL QUALITY products, but they offer them at reasonably affordable prices. That's not to say that these items aren't slightly more expensive than the non-organic/non-speciality foods, but compared to the price points between similar items everywhere else, they are the most affordable for what I believe shouldn't be sold at a premium price. They also have an Organic Produce section that is easily triple the size of Hannaford's, and is always fresh (as fresh as standard grocery store produce can be). They also have a huge variety of produce, that well exceeds any standard Hannaford's or Shaw's. And as I mentioned, if you are unhappy with any item, they honor a 100% money back guarantee! Not to mention, I am proud to support a store that feels that quality food shouldn't only be afforded by the wealthy, but should be at a price point that is accessible by every income level.
Their staff is also FANTASTIC. They are ALWAYS helpful, no matter who I've received assistance from, and always give me the feeling that they actually value my customer satisfaction over my money. Their customer service efforts always go beyond what any other similar store offers. For example, I recently noticed buying eggs, that the check out clerk always checks to make sure there are no broken ones. If there is a broken one, they ring an assistance bell, and without question, they send someone to replace the product for me! ❤️ They've done the same with a package of tomatoes/strawberries, that I missed had a couple damaged ones! ❤️ When I broke my toe earlier this summer, they were more than willing to help accommodate my gimpy needs, carrying my groceries to the car for me (and also mentioned, that in the future, they would even have someone assist me shopping if I needed! 😲) 🥰 Also, on multiple occasions, when I've been unsure about a product, their employees have just given me the item to try for free! That is absolutely unheard-of at any of the rivaling local stores!!! I also love their camaraderie.
Again, as i already mentioned, bottom line, in my opinion, they are practicing what I think every store should be striving for - QUALITY, HEALTHY, AFFORDABLE products, paired with the most stellar customer service, resulting in the highest level of customer satisfaction attainable! As long as they continue to provide this overall quality service, they will always remain my first...
Read moreMy shopping experiences at Trader Joe's on Dorcet Street in Burlington, VT are always excellent, however, my recent visit (2/28/24) was exceptional! An employee in the wine section was very helpful to me in selecting wine that was, by the way, very good. He assisted me in carrying the wine to find my husband who had our cart. He went in one direction and I in another and walked all over the store trying to locate my husband. Finally, I spotted him at the exit as he already checked out. I wanted to get some flowers so I told my husband I would meet him at the door. However, I found it would take time to chose so I decided to skip that step and check out with just the wine. The young man was waiting at the checkout with my wine . When he saw I didn't have any flowers he asked me what I would like and he would bring them to me. I told him to choose. He brought back a beautiful bouquet of colorful flowers and proceeded to gift them to me. This young gentleman was so thoughtful and kind, it moved me to tears. I wish I'd asked him his name as I would have liked to thank him publicly. I must add there were a couple of other employees who assisted me in this process as well. What I experienced that day was much more than customer service, it was exceptional care and kindness to another human being exhibited by this young man, in particular, and his coworkers, something I find all too rare in these times, and must be recognized. Thank you, thank you...
Read moreShopping at Trader Joe's has become a simple, reliable part of my week since it arrived in South Burlington Vermont. The staff stand out for their down-to-earth friendliness and willingness to lend a hand—whether it’s tracking down an item or offering a quick tip - they make the trip feel easy and pleasant.
The selection covers all the bases, with plenty of everyday essentials alongside some unique finds that keep things fresh without overwhelming me. It’s the kind of variety that works for regular meals and the occasional experiment.
The prices are a real win—solid quality that doesn’t strain my wallet. For example, their frozen meals and pantry staples like pasta or sauces give me more bang for my buck compared to other stores.
The healthy options are a big plus too—think quick salads or snacks that fit into my hectic days without much fuss. It’s less about fancy diets and more about keeping things doable.
Vermont’s lucky to have a Trader Joe’s, and honestly, a location in Williston would be a nice bonus. It’d bring that same straightforward convenience to more folks around here. All in all, Trader Joe’s is a no-nonsense stop that I count on...
